So I have this tv and i can't get to the input channel ( only have universal remote not org) how to change the input to audio video without the remote?
You should be able to select the AV input with an Input or Menu button on the front of the TV. If there are no arrow keys the Channel and Volume buttons may provide up-down-left-right action.

Which TV do you have? Some will have an Input or Source button on the front panel. A few will have an option to change the source from the menu. Both of these options require the front panel lock to be inactive.
A few older TVs allowed you to find the A/V input by pressing Channel Down on the front panel buttons until you passed channel 2 (or Channel Up until you nearly reached Channel 2). This option wouldn't work if the A/V inputs had been deleted when someone minimized going through unused channels.
If the Source or Input button was only available on the remote, you will need a universal remote that includes this feature. These cost a bit more than the lowest end remotes. Then you will have to try all of the codes to find the one that makes the Source button work with your TV. (Several codes may work for On/Off but not the change input.) The Universal remotes that can be programmed from a computer (USB connection) will be the easiest to set up. Remotes.com may have a replacement original or substitute remote for your TV that should work for all of the TV functions.
I hope this helps. Please add a comment with the TV make and model for specific options for your particular TV.
Cindy Wells (low end TVs usually only had the Source/Input button on the remote.)
Unfortunately, the Input button (to change the source from INPUT 1, INPUT 2, INPUT 3, INPUT 4, Front Input, HDMI/DVI, and last-active channel) is only on the remote. If your universal remote was built 6 months after the TV was released, try a different code for RCA/Thomson TVs (assuming the remote has an input or source key). Thomson built the TV.
Hi,
I cannot be sure of the exact model but... Press and hold the TV's volume up and volume down buttons simultaneously. On many older televisions, this opens the device menu without the use of a remote. Otherwise, use the menu button, which you can navigate in a similar fashion.
Also, somewhere should be an input button. Press it multiple times times to switch between various inputs (the input must match whatever input you are using). Usually after these menus are opened you can use vol up vol down to change things.
yes a universal remote will work but you may need to try several to find one that will, not all work to select your inputs. first try changeing the channel below channel 2, thats were most tv inputs are located (accessed)..
You need the original remote controller to be able to switch input modes.Universal ones usually don't work. If you don't have the original remote and can't find it ever or if it is too expensive you can buy an rf modulator ( very cheap) and connect your dvd player, game console etc) to the modulator then connect the modulator to your antenna with a coax cable. This worked for me. It placed the connection to channel 4 and other cable channels are still working,
You can buy the RF Modulator from: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180299245670
my universal unit won't change the tv channels, everything else works except the channel changing. Does anyone have a solution., The company is only open during the week.
using the menu button on the t.v. set an alarm for 1 min in the future. have the t.v change to channel 00 or the input channel @ that time. turn off the t.v and wait until the alarm turns the t.v on.
