Dark screen screen is dark all the time you canwatch it but is to dark no matter what you do

There are mainly two reasons for this fault. The first one is with its screen voltage settings. If the screen voltage settings have gone down [it can be happen automatically in rare cases], the screen will look dark. The second one is with its video output section itself. Anyway, you have to seek an experienced service technicians' help in this matter, if you are not handy in electronics.

It has bad lcd inverter and Westinghouse don't sell the parts either.

I down loaded the manual.

Either the power supply is going bad (power light will be orange or off when it goes dark) or the screen itself has the problem (inverter?). If the power button stays green but the screen goes dark, that'll be the problem.

sitnlisten - yes it does appear your pix tube is getting weak,but we may be able to turn up the flyback alittle to brighten up the picture.If you take the back off you will see the flyback-large black unit with a wire going to the round rubber cap on the back of the pix tube.Look at the flyback there are usually 2 adjusters one marked focus the other screen,just turn up the screen a little bit at a time.If you turn this up too much you will wind up with retrace lines on the screen.You may also want to check the pcboard ass'y for a sub bright adjust,and same thing small adjustments.If this don't help your pix tube may be too far gone.I hope this helps. cooltek Feb.1/08

Ok, this is probably what has happened, you say that you have played games on your tv, well the thing is with HD and Plasma Screen tv's is that when you play Hi-Res games on them the games backdrop will burn itself into the screen, causing the screen to turn dark and not reveal the correct picture it should. People need to learn about this!!!!! Playing games on HD and Plasma tv's will screw up your resolution!!!
