Charge battery fully (with laptop off) then unplug AC power. Do not continuously have power plugged in. This will ruin your battery. Remove battery when not in use for long periods. To refresh battery charge fully then run laptop till it turns off. Turn on again and wait for it to turn off. When laptop wont turn on, charge battery fully again and repeat process about 3 times. This should extend an old battery's run time.
hold the button down and it will change to blue, then you need to make sure your phone is connected to the speakers bluetooth. then when you play music off you phone it will come out the speaker. the red light is for aux mode - where you plug your phone or ipod in.
touch the title of the song you would like to play. Or else when you turn on the player, touch "music" and the music player should start playing the songs on your player.
Hi it very much sounds like the on board batttery is not charged up, (not charging) hence when you plug into the PC it gets it supply from the USB 5Volts and plays as normal
On my Colby player there is a small reset hole in the back. Mine has sometimes just stopped playing and shuts off. If you use a small wire (paperclip works well) push it in and reset it.
don't think it's possible.
-when you charge and play via your laptop, the player is acting as a USB key and the laptop is doing the playing.
-when you charge it via your in-car port you do not have a 2nd device on which to play tunes.
it's either charge or play i'm afraid
