My Asko dryer stops running when you release the start button. Any ideas? How much am I looking at to get this repaired? Thank you!
It could be that the overheat protection kicked in. When this happens the dryer will start when you push the button but shuts off when you release it. There is also no heat.
There is a reset button on the back of the dryer covered by a rubber membrane. Push that in. If you hear a click, the dryer has reset and should run normally. If the dryer continues to shut off and need reset, there's probably a lint blockage somewhere.
Glad to hear your dryer is back in operation. I just spent several hours doing the same to my dryer - cleaning out a huge amount of accumulated lint. On my dryer (a T700) there are two round plastic covers- one on each side panel - that can be rotated and taken out, which provides access to the air channels without the need to take off the back panel. (Of course I discovered this after the back panel was already off...)

If it heats when you keep button pressed its probably a relay which isnt holding to keep motor going, dont know cost though, wouldnt be a costly part idsay
Hi, this is a simple issue here. these switches will fail from time to time. the start switch is unable to hold the circuit, in return, opening it upon release of the button.
Simply replacing the switch will fix this issue. switch is 20 dollars tops.

Cousin Jeff - thank you! I found the reset button last Sunday and the dryer started running. :) I did take the back off and clean all of the lint as well - dryer is working perfectly!
