Furnace wont light

First, you need to make sure that your ignitor is properly positioned. Second, commonly your flame sensor could be dirty. all you need is plumbers tape or type or sand paper light stroke the flame rod til it looks new. If that doesnt work, you could use a multi meter put meter in series with ignitor and check micro amps

Maytag mlg2000aww ignitor flame doesnt go on when started

This dryer uses a hot surface ignitor to light the burner. test for 110 volts at the ignitor plug after you disconnect it and start the dryer, if voltage is present, replace the ignitor, part# 33002789, if no 110 volts, than you will need to check the thermal fuse located on the blower housing, if hte dryer heats a few times then fails to light after it has warmed up, you will most likely need the coil kit on the gas valve replaced. Furnace was working fine and just stopped working...it reacts to raising the thermostat but doesnt actually flame on

This is probably a ignitor.

1. Thermostat calls for heat. 2. Draft inducer motor starts. 3. Pressure switch attached by a small plastic or rubber tube senses the negative pressure produced by the draft inducer and closes. 4. Draft inducer runs for 30 seconds to a minute before you hear a gas hissing sound. The ignitor did not glow, the flame sensor (a small metal probe about 1/8" in diameter, with a white porcelain base) does not sense the flame, so after 8 to 10 seconds the hissing sounds stops with no ignition of gas to heat your home. Your furnace shuts down and goes into a lock out condition until you turn your power switch back off and on again. Then the sequence starts all over again with no ignition of the gas. Solution:You probably need to purchase and install a new ignitor. I would suggest that you inspect your ignitor closely for cracks.Make sure you do not touch the ignitor with your bare hands. If you do not visually see a crack, then you could have a furnace control board problem or a limit, rollout switch problem. Please see "limits, rollout switches & furnace control boards" further down on this page. The furnace's control board might not be supplying the voltage to the ignitor. If your furnace lights and the gas stays on for 8 to 10 seconds, then shuts right back off, then you need to clean your flame sensor with light sand paper or steel wool. You might need a new flame sensor, but most of the time they can be cleaned an will work well after cleaning.
Please leave feedback... Thanks...

My oven doesnt heat up. the lflame light goes on but no flame

you need to check the current draw on the ignitor if it is not pulling enough power it will not allow the safety valve to open and the gas to flow. replace the ignitor

Heater exhaust blower comes on ignitor lights but it doesn't seem to get gas everything works but no flame and blower won't kick on the unit is brand new and was working this morning then stopped

This furnace should have a trobleshooting diagnostic led flashing light. Each blink (for example 3 blinks means open limit switch) has a particlur meaning. On the bottom panel has an explaination on what the blinks mean. But in the meantime check 24v at the gas right as the ignitors light. If you have 24v and the gas valve doesnt let the gas thru then the gas valve might be defective. I usually put 24v dircetly to the gas valve for 2-3 seconds to see if gas will come out. It is loud enogh to hear as well as smell. If you dont have 24v as the ignitor tries to light then check the air pressure switch. Also follow the wire off the gas valve. One is to ground. Make sure the gas valve is grounded. Follow not the grounded wire but the other one. Find out where the 24v power stops.

On my dryer the ignitor glows but the flame doesnt light

More than likely, it's the gas valve coil. The ignitor could be the probably the coil if the ignitor is glowing brightly

No heat it starts but the igniter doesnt light the gas

First thing to check is the ignitor underneath the drum. (You have to open the panel to see it)  It should glow shortly after the dryer starts, then the flame starts and the ignitor shuts off.  If the ignitor does not glow then the thermostat is bad.  If the ignitor is glowing but the gas does not light then the gas valve coils may have to be replaced.   If the gas ignites but does not stay on either the flame sensor or the coils are at fault.

Gas Burner ignitor is not working

Yes it should be an easy fix.
Ignitors simply go bad from time to time.

If you have a meter you can check to see if you have voltage going to the ignitor. If you do, and it isnt trying to ignite, replace the ignitor.
If you have no meter, ignitors are usually less than 30 bucks so you will not be to much in the hole by just replacing it.

If you lift the cover to access the ignitor, it should be held in by two crews, the gas tube, and a wire to the flame sensor.

Make sure you turn off all gas and electric before disassembling.

You can find ignitors at your local appliance parts supply house.
All you need is the model and serial numbers.

Ignitor problem?

if you remove the 2 screws on the right and left bottom plate and open the door and youll see 2 screws that panel will come off turn the oven on and you should see 2 burners on both sides and they should ignite.if they do and go right out you could have 2 problems.when the burners light they hit a probe called a flame sense.this probe plugs into a heat board and if the board doesnt sense the flame you will get a red no ignition light.clean the probes that sit right on the burners with sandpaper and see what happens,if that doesnt work if the unit has pilots clean the pilot orfice and if that doesnt work the heat board may be bad.how old is the unit?
