Samsung gravity PNY 4gb memory card problem

I've purchased a PNY 4gb memory card is a regular HC memory card and when i put it into my phone it asks to format the card so i do it on the phone and then it gives me the folders music, pictures, etc. Then i take it out of the phone and put it on my computer to download music and picture but when i do that an error message comes up and says not enough space on destination file. and when i check the size of the card it says 48kb I try formatting it from the computer when i do that it formats it and then i double check the size again and then the size is 4gb i load my music and my pictures and then when i put it on the phone and try accessing the files it only gives me the option to format the memory card again. I do not understand why is not accepting it. If you could help me that will be great thanks.

Hi,

The problem might be that the card is password protected, i recommend you switch it to the unlocked position and then use a computer to format the memory card and do a full format not the quick format.

hope this helped.

I purchased a 4GB Sandisk Micro SDHC card and inserted it into my Samsung Gravity 2... when I tried to format it it said "Error"... and after that the phone will not even recognize that there IS an SD card...

your samsung Gravity 2 wont read the HC format, there is not much you can do sorry. the SD HC is a newer format for devices in the last year or so. Older devices will not accept the HC format cards. I did the same thing! And im in the business, easy mistake. Keep it around though you'll use it soon, just not in your Samsung. Gurvy

I dont have a solution, but my aunt purchased this phone and a new SD card, and I have put pictures and music for ringtones from my computer to the SD Card, and when I put it back into her phone (Samsung R451C) I can not bring any of the pictures up and I can bring the music for the ringtones, but I cannot set it as a ringtone. I am sure if I was able to bring the pictures up, that I probably would not be able to set them as a wallpaper or nothing also...So I kind of have the same problem with setting my aunt's pictures and music with the same phone too...

I am trying to download a WMA Audiobook from the library site Wilbur, but it says that my PNY USB 2.0 FD USB device is incompatible

if it doesn t read your card. Its because the computer or labtop can not read HC high capacity cards. it will read a 1 GB or 2 GB but anything above will not be read. check on card if it has HC you need new hardware or a regular sd card.

Hello

If the Card Says MicroSDHC on it the phone itself does not support HC so you have to get a regular MicroSD card. I had the same problem and purchased a 2gb MicroSD card and it works fine in my samsung gravity.

Samsung gravity music player help

hello all

i recently got the samsung gravity as well and had a 4gb card for it and got the same problem.... from what i have found its not the size of the card its that the phone does not support the (HC - high capicity) micro sd card. I went down and bought a regular 2gb microsd card and popped it in and it works fine. also all you have to do to put music on the card is drag(from your pc) and drop into the music folder(on the sd card). hope this helps. have a great day!!

PURCHASE THE PNY 4GB MEMORY CARD

I have the same problem with the card, my cannon camera, and my gateway laptop. From what I've learned in the past ten minutes, the card is SDHC and my devices are not. The card is not able to dumb down and I am returning it to Best Buy. The HC in SDHC is the issue from my best guess. Similar to you cannot play PS3 games on PS2. I hope this helps anyone else.
