SOURCE: dryer will spin but not dry , heat element is fine

Try replacing the high limit switches if the element is fine. The limit switches will not allow power to the heat strips if they are blown. They are the little silver buttons on the heat strip. There are usually two wires connected to them one coming from the controls and one from the heat strip itself

Maytag mde7057ayw not drying on intelidry

Hello there and welcome to fixya
Heating element Often a dryer heating element burns out, but doesn't trip the circuit breaker or blow a fuse. The heating element is simply a long coil of special wire. You can check it for continuity with an ohm meter. No continuity means the element is bad and you need to replace it--electric heating elements aren't repairable. To determine if the heating element is burned out, watch the part testing video at the bottom of this page. Thermal fuse On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. The fuse--which is about an inch long--is usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing. If the fuse has blown, you need to replace it. (You can't re-set it.) To determine if the thermal fuse has blown out, watch the part testing video at the bottom of this page.

Maytag Dryer model PYE1000AYW runs fine no heat

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

As everything in your dryer is working fine apart from it heating properly so the recommended repair will be thermal fuse/thermostat replacement. However, you can also test its continuity before replacement. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Just replaces heating element in GE dryer. Dried one load but does not work, now. Light works, so it has power. Suggestions?

I would check the thermal fuse or thermostat. If the thermal fuse is blown check for obstructions in your vent then replace. For a video on testing these components go to www.appliancehelponline.com/servicemanual.html scroll down to troubleshooting an electric dryer.

My dryer doesn't appear to be drying as fast as before.

Most times this is because there is a restriction of the air flow leaving the dryer exhaust pipe. This will cause a buildup of heat and cause the high limit to turn the heat off. If clearing the exhaust pipe of crimps, dust or clogged line does not help then let me know. Thanks, Sea Breeze

No heat from dryer

You have a bad heating element and or a bad high limit switch. Check them for continuity with a volt meter. No continuity, replace the part.

Dryer element stays warm

If it heats w/ the timer in off position whenever plugged in the the element is shorting to ground, its most likely due to either a broken coil or a cracked insulator. If heating w/ timer set for drying but motor is not running, the heat circuit thru the centrifugal/start switch on the motor is stuck closed.

Dryer not heating hot enough to dry

Check for a clog in the piping, Make sure the squirrel fan you replaced not backwards, also visually check an see if the heating element is glowing completly red, if not it's probley getting only 120 volts, not getting 240 volts, if that be the case you'll need a new switch. There are about three switches that could cause that problem, the high temp switch, low temp switch or the timer switch.

Maytag PYE3300AYW Elec Dryer Runs, But No Heat

hello kellygubser,
If you are sure the thermal switch is ok.. have you checked the high temp ( bi metal snap switch) too? Here is a link to the wiring diagram of your dryer. You can see that there are a few other temp switches in circuit of the heating element that would disble it.. Hope this helps
