Whirlpool duet I wanted to wash sg and pushed the power button. placed the items in and closed the door well. when i tried to choose quick wash it wouldn't light up and i had to realize that it didn't show the time for the wash also the power button was sort of stuck. i unplugged and plugged it back but the power button is still on steady green....what can i do?

try this link..Pull down on the bottom panel and pull it away from the washer. Reach through the open panel and up to the door lock. Find the release ring below the locking mechanism. Pull down on the ring to unlock the door.

The interlock switch is part of the above assembly.

Make sure that the door strike assembly item 9 is not broken first.

pushing the button that many time is not the problem on this type of unit you push the start and hold of about 5 sec's then you'll hear the unit start door lock and oper through a normal cyc a word of advice don't close the door very hard push into place these things are plastic and will break the latch assy then will cost $$$ for parts good luck

first an foremost your washer isn't designed to wash comforters, the capacity isn't large enough. only clothes sheets . the reason ur door wont stay closed is the bulk item is pushing it open. overloading washer will cause $$ major problems. simiply take that to the cleaners an save urself some big bucks.

The first thing to try is to hold the cancel button for 15 seconds. The more labor intensive solution is this: Remove the panel beneath the door (2 or 3 screws). Reach up, there is a little "ring" beneath the door lock. Pull this down, it releases the mechanism.

This error code indicates that the door is not locking.
Is the washer door firmly shut?
The door must be completely closed for the washer to operate. The door may look as if it's closed, but it may not be latched. Open the door and firmly close it.
Were you washing a large load?
Before you close the washer door, check for laundry items sticking out beyond the door opening. Leave enough space in the washer to allow the clothes to freely tumble. Reduce your load size if needed.
To remove the error display, press Pause/Cancel twice.


If Pause/Cancel does not work:

1. Unplug the washer or disconnect the power for one minute.
2. Plug in the washer or reconnect the power.
3. Re-select the cycle and press Start.

NOTE: If the error remains on the display, and all of the other conditions above have been checked, call for service.

can oyu oppen the door nad physically push in on the door switch( little grey switch atop the door opening). do you hear it clicking on/off??? if not you have a bad door switch.

I've had this same exact problem and that's why I'm at this site.   I have had success with holding the start button and hitting the door right over the place where the switch is on the other side.  That worked good until today so I've called a service tech to come out later this week.  Give that a try and maybe it will work for you.

Sounds like you have done everything right. Is the door closed firmly? Did you hold the pus to start button long enough?
