Frozen, 'snowy' screen...HELP!!!

Hi, when I turn on my calculator the screen is all messed up.  It looks like it is 'snowing' and there are faded numbers in the background. (It looks as though it is frozen.)  The only buttons that do anything are the on and off buttons.  Any Ideas? Is there a way to reset this?  I know nothing about these calculators and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated,

The only solution that I can think of that might work would be connecting the Ti to another Ti of similarly close models and use the "sendOS" function on the working one, this should reset the crapped one to a functioning setup.

This does require the special wire they have for connection 2 calculators together... probably can get it on ebay or something if you don't have it already and just borrow a friend calc in class or something...

If you need more help you can reach me at saik0[dot]com or Saik0Shinigami{at}gmail[dot]com

In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.

My TI-84 Plus Silver Edition is frozen. I can't clear the screen or enter in another problem. What do I do?

If the TI-84 SE does not function even though you are sure that the
batteries are fresh, you can try manually resetting it by following steps:

1. Remove all of the AAA batteries from the graphing handheld

2. Press and hold the ON key for ten seconds

3. Replace the batteries

4. Turn on the unit

When you reset your graphing handheld, the contrast sometimes
changes. If the screen is faded or blank, adjust the contrast by
pressing 2nd and releasing up-arrow or down-arrow keys.

Sony TR425e picture slightly faded with slight snow and streaks.

You may get by with just a video head cleaning based on your symptoms. I do camcorder clean and service for just $40, but I'm in California. 916-362-8708. I do repair pal units like yours as well as the standard ntsc format as we use here in the usa. Larry Stiles, Larry's Electronics.

The screen has went snowy and wont respond to the remote

Snowy screen, unresponsive to remote control... Sounds like an interference from something. An example... A hairdryer can mess up a CRT really bad. Anything that is likely to create small EMPs will surely mess up your TV and even interfere with the infra-red. Not marking this as a solution, check everything and test the TV. Here's the test: Turn everything off, except for the TV. If it's still doing it then the remote infra-red is just a coincidental failure with the snowy screen. Sorry I can't help you further.

NOKIA 3230 snow screen!?

Haven't heard of any mobile virus with a snowy screen. try these links - http://www.simworks.biz/sav/index.php http://mobile.f-secure.com/fsc/retail/ virus scan programs for mobiles. Sorry I can't be of more help. Try a hard reset by removing the battery, or by pressing *#7370# and after you do that, it will ask you for unlock code which will be 12345. but if there's no display...
