Woops - seem to have killed my laptop!

REcently posted the below problem.  Now have put it back as originally but now it won't even start up!!  Is there a way of rebooting it please??

"Have recently put an extra 1GB memory to my Toshiba Satellite A100 (XP professional).  Opened the back, put in extra 1GB memory (from Legend) into the obvious place- and it appears to work - but exactly the same as before!!  Can't find anywhere where the new memory shows up, just the old 512 MB.  Is there something else to do like set it up somehow to recognise the new memory??  What test can be run to see if it is "

Right-click My Computer/Properties to see what memory is listed.
It's possible this memory is incompatible, but that would usually cause a no-boot situation.
Check the maker's specs to see what memory is suggested/approved.
I can't do this without the full model number.

I need help on electrical on my 2000 Yamaha r6

Hi, Tabatha look for a major pinched wiring harness and check your battery ground cable where it attaches to the frame or engine being loose, rusted or corroded for this scenario you will need your service/owners manual if you can't find the first and best tool you ever bought for your Yamaha, despair not, for a mere $0 you can download another one. Hi, Beth it is possible that if you rarely use the kill switch it has become contaminated and faulty, you may be able to remove and refurbish the contacts or replace if necessary. For more information about your issue please click on the links below. Good luck and have nice a day.

My odometer was flashing when I stopped when I continue down road it went blank cut bike off try to start back it killed battery couldn't even charge it

Hi, Wesley and the usual suspects are:
1. Ignition Switch not in the "ON" position.
2. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position.
3. Discharged battery, check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
4. Bank angle sensor tripped and ignition/light key switch not cycled to the "OFF" position and then back to the "ON" position.
5. Faulty starter button/switch.
6. Faulty jiffy stand or clutch pull in switch/sensor.
7. Security alarm needs a reset.
8. Starter control circuit, relay, or solenoid faulty.
9. Electric starter shaft pinion gear is not engaging or over-running starter clutch slipping.

Put a load of laudry in the dryer that was still holding water. Dryer stopped running and there was water sitting in the dryer. Now the dryer won't run

Hello, Welcome to FixYa.

There are a couple of scenarios which may prevent the dryer from starting with Bosch.

To save time and back and forth dialog, I`ll mention the most likely based on your description, "put a load of laundry in the dryer that was still holding water. Dryer stopped running and there was water sitting in the dryer. Now the dryer won't run"...and what to do about it.

**Unplug the dryer before attempting any repair tips suggested here first**

There is an auto shut off or emergency kill switch next to the motor which will prevent it to start in the event it was tripped for whatever reason... likely from the excessive weight of the load you put in.

It will look like this image below and all you need to do is push it to the right ( from the back )...

If you`ve already taken the back of the dryer off to gain access you should have no problem. If you never have, it`ll take some time.

Either Scenario I alluded to ( the other would be resetting the hi-limit cut out, you can see through the back vent opening when the vent is removed and then by pushing the red button in...shown below ) will require the removal of that panel so let me know if you require further assistance to do this.

Keep me posted how you make out or if anything is not clear.

Thanks for choosing FixYa and good luck.

No power when trying to start

No power as in it won't even crank over? Is the battery ok? Try jumping it or putting it on the battery charger. If that seems ok, maybe a bad connection at the battery post. Does it even click or try to do something.

My laptop won't turn on, and the charger doesn't seem to be doing anything. even when plugged in, it won't start. ideas?

You've to replace the ac adapter, if it's brick doesn't get warm or LED does not glow on Power Jack on the laptop. offcourse, check with the wall different sockets

power jack can also be loose. so jiggle the cable to find out.

if notebook is getting power, you can remove the battery, ac adapter, hold and keeep pressing poer button for a minute, then, turn it on.

finally, you can take out hdd and ram, put them back again and turn on the laptop. hope it will help

Have a 19.5 HP Twin B&S with a 46" cut model father in laws whioch hasnt started for years. He has neen cutting his yard with a push mower, but had a heart attack 2 weeks ago and has asked me to...

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly I just answered another post and your question appeared after my posting. I see it is 2 days old. I am right now looking up the engine and the wiring diagram.
To get ignition you must have:
1. A full oil level. The engine has a low oil level sensor that will kill ignition if the oil level is low.
2. A a working clutch brake pedal switch
3. Someone sitting in the seat.
4. PTO clutch dis-engaged
5. Key in run or start.

Without all of the above you will not get ignition and the start solenoid will not cycle. (Start solenoid does not go through the oil level sensor.)

From what I can tell this is the 19.5 Hp Briggs and Stratton 42E707-2631-E1

I tried crossing the model number to a manual and the closest I could get was the manual with the same model number as yours except the last digit is a 1 vs a 3 Manual link below.

Mower parts are here:
Note the diagrams under the picture. Each of those thumbnail pictures will open a new section.

I think once you sort out the switches that you will get both the start solenoid and the ignition to work.
Since this mower has been sitting for sometime you should probably check out the PTO clutch gap. There are 3 spring loaded bolts / nuts and there are 3 slots in the PTO clutch. Static the gap in the clutch must be 0.020. Otherwise you will not only have starting problems but blade engagement problems. Adjust the 3 bolts/nuts until you get a 0.020 gap. That should make the switches in the PTO clutch work. Just look at the wiring for any damage around the PTO clutch also... A previously thrown belt can trash the clutch wiring.

After the PTO clutch your checkin Brake.clutch pedal switch and the seat pedal switch.
For troubleshooting only you can disconnect ONE wire from the oil level sensor to see if you get spark.

I recommend you get the starter to work normally first and then troubleshoot ignition. Because except for the low oil level sensor they are common.

Safety switches can for troubleshooing only be bypassed by running a jumper wire from the white wire of the key switch to the starter solenoid white wire connection. If the starter works by doing this and does NOT work without the jumper... you have safety switch problems.

Hopefully with this information you can revive this mower from hibernation.
Feel free to ask any questions anytime I will stick with you here until we figure it out.
Thanks for choosing FixYa,
