Battery will no longer hold charge

This mp3 player battery will no longer hold a full charge for more than 1-2 hours. Samsung service tells me to throw it away! There has to be a service solution short of that???? Can anyone help? The unit seems to be working fine except for the bad battery.

    My batterie holds just 10-20 minutes after being charged completely. If yes, where may I buy a new one and what is the sparepart number?

    My battery lasts hardly an hour even after charging it completely.

You can get a new battery on ebay for 5 pound odd.....easy to insert but make sure you check hdd connector still connected before you close unit up again.....as it comes loose when you move hdd out of way to remove battery

Get a new battery.

Just like on my cell phone, if I go a long time with it, it goes dead faster, for example the first day I got it would last at least a couple days, now it lasts maybe 10 hours, or so.

Buy a new battery.

This player is rated for about 20 hours of play time acording the the Samsung website features page. It is likely that you will not always get a full 20 hours as that is under perfect conditions. As for charge time, it is always a good idea to charge overnight when you get a new battery operated device.

Depending on your MP3 brand and model . But normally it will full charged in range (1 - 3 hours) by AC plug in adapter. If longer than that, meaning you've got problem with battery. It may wear down already.

Cannot tell when sansa mp3 player is fully charged.
Make sure the hold switch is not engaged - it will interfere with the charging process. Here is a link to the full user's manual:

Unit will not turn on
Your battery is recharged when connected to your computer. Turn the player off and connect it to your computer via the USB cord. The computer must be turned on. Initial charge should be for 10 hours with subsequent charges 3 to 4 hours for a full charge. A quick charge of 1-1/2 hours will give you a 70 percent charge. A fully charged battery will last up to 15 hours under normal use.

Brand new Samsung YP-K3 charging FOREVER..
well have had my k3 die on me once, pressed reset on the back and it worked again (this in the it doing nothing anymore case) as for the cgarging thing try it on another computer, when I charge my k3 at work it charges all day but I don';t get a full battery, at home I charge it for bout 2 to 4 hours to get full battery. I think it has something to do with ho many things u have connected to ur usb ports or how much output ur computer gives to ur usb, maybe it goes to like a lower voltage to preserve electricity, no idea how to change this but unplug unneccecary things.

Samsung YP K3 only lasts for 2 hours
1. totally discharge the battery so it wont come on.

2. Charge the battery fully

3. Reset the player

Now check how long the battery lasts. If it is still 2 hours there is a problem with the battey and you will need to return the player.

Battery life is rubbish
The first time you charge a battery, you must charge it for at least 16 hours, otherwise the battery builds up a memory, and it will not charge further than that. Try buying a new battery and charging it for at least 16 hours, if this was not done the first time. If this was done, or you are using a new battery, it might be that the battery connector is faulty and needs to be replaced
