Can't select 'Bypass Tray' as a print option.

I have a shared networked Gestetner P7145 printer. I installed the RPCS drivers for it on a Win2k Server box. On the Server, the printer properties box for the Gestetner shows the 'Bypass Tray' as an option that I can print to. But when I connect to the share printer from a couple WinXP PC, I do not get the option to print to/or select the 'Bypass Tray'. It does not show up. I even installed the RPCS driver onto the WinXp PC to no avail. I changed the drivers to PCL6 and still only can print to Tray 1 and Tray 2 only (no Bypass Tray is shown). Please help. Thanks in advance! Joey

That's strange. I just downloaded it to see what might need to be done, and the bypass tray was available, and it's a standard feature, so it doesn't have to be manually added or anything. I, however, used the Ricoh driver which is identical, because Ricoh owns Gestetner (in case you didn't know) so you may try installing that one. maybe it's a glitch in the Gestetner driver package. The comparable model is Ricoh AP 4510, and you can get it here. I hope this helps:

Hp deskjet 550c trying to print from network But I am on windows 7. Printer is on xp. Can't find driver or fix to run printer on network

Use my published guide to install the latest drivers for all computers on the network. It is entitled
How to Install the latest drivers for Hewlett Packard Printer!!!
The drivers need to be installed on all computers in the network.

Then once the drivers are installed all you need to do is to navigate to the Windows control panel and double click printers and faxes on the computer that the printer is connected to.
Now right click the your printer and select the option Sharing, this will allow you to share the printer on the network.

Click the lower circle to share the printer.

Then when you print from another computer on the network, be sure to select this shared printer as the printer to print to, or set this shared printer as the default printer by right clicking the printer and selecting the option to set as default printer.

Please be sure to rate this session.

Take care!

Cannot send a p rint job to pring labels from word to bypass tray with Canon 5000 copier Click on copier properties, click on bypass tray and then ok and print. Will not print fromt he bypass tray Ideas?...

If you can copy from the bypass, you should be able to print from it. It may be a setting in the print driver. Not the one you use through windows but the one installed in the printers folder in control panel. Check that it is not set to draw 1 - it should be on AUTO. Also, the document you are using has print settings of its own - check them as they will overide the tray you select. Select from within your document file - options - printer then look through those settings and anything telling the machine to print to a particular draw will make your job go there instead of where you ask it to.

Dsc328 will not print using a Mac

If your copier / printer does not have postscript 3 option installed, it will not print from MAC. Print a configuration page: "User tools", "Printer features" "list print" (or similar), "configuration page". Check under the heading of "printer languages"......you'll see stuff like "PCL 5c", "PCL 6", "RPCS", etc. If no "postscript 3", it is not compatible with your MAC, and you don't want to know how much that option is for your machine! Ridiculous!

How to print envelopes aficio ricio mp c4500

On an MP-C4500, envelopes must be printed using the bypass tray (the fold-out tray on the right hand side). Put the envelope in face-down and tighten the two fences so the envelope is snug.

When printing the envelope, make sure the print driver is set for the correct envelope size. If envelopes tend to jam in the printer, try setting the bypass paper type for thick paper.
