go into set up and change from demo to home

This is what worked for me:

1. Power the radio off (hold the power button in top left corner in for several seconds)
2. Remove face plate
3. Hold in reset 10 seconds
4. Press push-menu dial/button 3 or 4 times
5. Insert cd and hit source to switch to tuner before cd starts

Not all of these steps may be necessary.
I suspect having the power off before the reset button was the important part.

Most modern car stereos all use a standard plug (the name escapes me at present) so virtually any stereo should just plug in...

If your not sure, pop in to a motor parts place such as halfords and ask them to take a quick look at the wiring in your car... they will tell you weather it is standard or not...

check wiring to make sure all wires r properly connected, sounds like a power problem . if it is an expensive radio and it is broken then its probably worth fixing.if its a cheepie than chunk it and get a new one

I HAVE SAME PROBLEM. AFTER I REPLACED MY DEAD BATTERY MY AIWA CDC-X304 IS STUCK IN THE DEMO MODE. ONLY CD WORKS BUT ALL BUTTONS ON FACING DO NOT RESPOND. ANY SUGGESTIONS HOW TO RESET.

1. While in Demo mode push and hold the "PUSH-MENU" button until "set" appears on the screen.

2. push "Seek" + or - to select Demo

3. turn "PUSH-MENU" to select "demo off"
