I have had my Palm m505 for a while. I plugged it in to charge, but the light started flickering, so I took it out. The sceen is dead, the green light stays on, but the back cover gets very hot. I tried to soft reset it, but nothing happened, and when I did leave it plugged in, horizontal blue lines appear, and vertical multicoloured lines go down the middle of the screen. I took it out of the cradle, and the lines slowly disappear, but the green light stays on. It slowly fades off, but the Palm smells when I put it near my nose. IF anyone can help me, I would be VERY grateful!

I have an M505 with the same problem. After taking off the back cover, I found a defective (short circuit) SOT23 device nearly centered just below the expansion card slot. The markings are A5RGC, but I have been unable to verify whether this may be a programmable UJT (BRY61), a transistor or a diode. Does anyone have a schematic diagram, or kno where to get one?

it sounds like it could be a warrenty issue, if you have restoreed the device and its still not working then you would need to get it repaired or replaced
