SOURCE: both left and right speakers play audio for right speaker

I think you mean the left channel is out but when you use test tone, the sound comes from left and right channels through the right channel speaker. If this is case, the switching IC is malfuncting. Unit needs service

SOURCE: no sound out of rear speakers

I don' know what type of system you have, but try to switch system to "SURROUND" mode, or "DSP" mode.

SOURCE: Right front speaker channel has a lower than usual output...

very basically try swapping over the speaker cables, if this doesnt work i suspect you are in need of a new ouput i.c. these can go if the speaker wires are touched together, unless there is a protection circuit.

I have a AVR130 Audio/video receiver,JBL separate ubwoofer 140/230, 4 JBL satellite speakers one center peaker. Kindly explain the connections to get the listening pleasure

Connect #1 JBL Speaker to the Front Left, #2 to Front Right, #3 to Right Rear, #4 to Left Rear, the center speaker to center and the subwoofer to sub out. This will give you dolby surround sound and individual sounds through-out the entire room like the movie theatre.

Front speakers 5.1

Turn up the volume on the left or right speakers or turn down the center channel volume to meet your preferences. There should be a setting for that in most receivers.

I don't know which port in the back of the Pavilion to connect the black wire from the speakers (that connect to the right speaker with red and white ends). Any ideas? They are labeled as side, rear...

To get "surround" sound, when you face the computer, you will have:
* 2 front speakers, one immediately on each side of the computer
* 2 side speakers, one on each side of your head
* 2 rear speakers, one behind each side of your head

Thus, when the sound is of a jet-plane coming towards your face,
you'll first hear the sound in the front speakers,
then in the side speakers,
and finally in the rear speakers,
to produce a sound-effect of the jet passing over your head, and going "behind" you.

Usually, for "front" speakers, one speaker connects to the other speaker, and the second speaker connects to the "FRONT-audio-output" connector on your sound-card.

For side speakers, one speaker will connect to the LEFT-side-audio-output port,
and one speaker will connect to the RIGHT-side-audio-output port.

For rear speakers, one speaker will connect to the LEFT-rear-audio-output port,
and one speaker will connect to the RIGHT-rear-audio-output port.

I have my HTR 6030 receiver hooked up with a blu ray and am trying to get true 5.1 sound. Have a blu ray disc playing and have put the setting on "straight" on receiver as instructed by future...

Hi there,

If you only have sound from the front left and right speakers when it's set to STRAIGHT, it means the audio source is only 2 channel stereo. As the audio source is from Blu-Ray, the audio should be HD if you are using the correct type of audio cable.

I really need more information from you to give a definitive answer. If you are only using a RCA type audio cable (red/white plugs) from the Blu-Ray to the Yamaha receiver then you will only get left and right front channels on the STRAIGHT setting. This receiver does not have HDMI, so you really need to be using a digital optical audio cable to get true 5.1.

Please can you let me know how the BD player is connected to the Yamaha receiver if you need further assistance.

Thanks,
BElectric

AVR 7000 audio/video receiver

Harman kardon amplifire are known for that.specially AVR 7000
but sometimes this comes from poor wiring and using a wire that will not conduct better sound. Remember your wiring is very important.you may think your wiring is currect, better to double check. even if your connection is ok and the wire you are using are not better to produce quality sound you will not get sound from every speaker.

good luck

Center and surround speakers work, but front right and front left speakers do not put out any sound

I had the same problem. Set the reciever on 6 channel stereo. On this setting, you should be getting the same sound out of each speaker. Isolate which speakers aren't getting sound. Now, on your speaker switch (the A/B button), select A. If that doesn't fix it, select B. If that doesn't fix it, try A and B (if you can on your reciever).

Now, when you switch back to pro-logic, make sure your a/b channel switch is in the position that worked in 6 channel stereo. Yamaha recievers have a memory, and when you switch various modes, it makes auto adjustments based on what you had set in the past.

Hope this helps

Sound not coming from left side surround sound speaker or my right side front speaker

it is highly likely that you're TV is outputting mono sound, hence the left channel only. check your physical connections to the TV and the balance / channel volume on the television as well.
