SOURCE: Xerox Phaser 6360 Black Toner prints Light Grey

I have had to repair a few of these. Take off the sides and back of the 6360. You'll see the hoses that feed into the laser. The black one becomes unplugged from the laser. All you have to do is plug it back in. The next step can be kinda messy. Take out the black toner cartridge, and spin the motor backwards. You'll know you're going the right way because it won't turn the other way. Cycle the gear where the toner sits for about 2 revolutions. Reassemble and you should be good to go!

This thing took me 6 days to figure out the first time. Haha!

Please vote on my solution! Thanks!

SOURCE: xerox Phaser 6300DN is printing light black on

The laser window probably has either some toner or dust on it and needs to be cleaned. It will be under a shutter located in line with the drum.
It is less than 1/2 inch high and about 6 or 7 inches wide.
Clean that and your problem will go away.

Printer is printing the black color as light grey. Toner is already exchanged.

When you print something from a website and the print box comes up, click on preferences tab, and when it comes up click on color . Then click on print in grayscale and change the setting from High Quality to Black ink only, click apply at the bottom, then OK. It should print in black ink.

Problem with phaser

Phaser 2135 Printer: Resolving dirty looking background or gray haze

Description: Tiny speckles of toner scattered all over the page, even in areas of the page that should be blank.
  1. Make sure the media being used is supported by the Phaser 2135 printer.
  2. Inspect imaging drums for any signs of leakage or excess toner that could be falling onto the print as it travels though the printer. Any leaking imaging drums should be replaced.
  3. Verify environmental conditions. See article Dealing with humidity, humidifiers. If the environmental conditions are not within the specified range, the printer should be moved before trying to troubleshoot the cause to the background toner.
  4. Determine if any of the imaging drums were exposed to light for an extended period of time (more than 10 minutes). If so, then Replace the imaging drum. (Xerox is not responsible for any imaging drums that have been damaged by over exposure to light.)
Additional Recommendations:
Background toner may increase, if printing occurs at temperatures towards the higher end of the specified operating temperature range. For this reason, it is recommended that the printer be moved to another area if at all possible.
In addition, very smooth media types such as glossy; allow toner to more easily scatter about the page prior to becoming fused. Try using a less smooth media if at all possible.
