Oh then you DO need help. To vacuum you don't need to change the valve setting on the filter, but if there is a valve on the intake selecting main drain/skimmer you can select skimmer only, but I usually only do this after I have the hose primed. . You attach the hose to the skimmer inlet. Usually there will be a round plate attched to the hose that fits into the skimmer ( you may have to remove the basket) If you don't have that round plate on the hose, then you can insert the hose driectly into the bottom of the skimmer. Before you attach the hose, connect it to the skimmer head on the pole. Submerge the head and hose. Allow to settle to bottom. Put all the hose into the pool. Take the other end and hold over the discharge back into the pool to fill the hose with water (prime) until air bubbles stop coming from vacuum head. Then hold your hand over the hose (to keep from loosing prime) and quickly attach to skimmer. You may hear some air, and the pump may stop pumping fully mommentairly untill it is pumping full water again. Now you can select the valve to divert all the flow from the skimmer
If you look at the chlorinator you'll see an arrow pointing in the direction of the flow. Basically the water coming out of the pool should be going through the filter tower first and then through the chlorinator and ultimately back into the pool.
Your system has a suction side and a discharge side. Skimmer and bottom drain hook to the suction side. Returns (discharge) return via chlorinator or other sanitary system and heater if appropriate, to ports in the side of the pool.
Try consulting the owners manual for these pool filters for more info. I can tell you that you need to have your valve set to rinse for normal vaccuming and waste for heavily soiled pools. Hope this helps.
i need to know the same thing,I hooked everything up as it looked right but no suction?I hooked the 1-1/4 hose to the vinyl liner vac. head then hooked the other end to my intake hole wich sucks into my filter, but i notice the filter water is not circulating properly, the filter itself is drained of water? will this burn it out or what?
YOU CAN DO THIS 2 WAYS IF YOU WANT TO USE SKIMMER THERE IS A PIECE THAT GOES INSIDE SKIMMER TO ATTACH YOR VAC HOSE TO HEAD O VAC FITS ON END OF POLE TWO PUSH PIN ATTACH HOSE TO VAC HEAD AND INTO SKIMMER IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO BYPASS HOOK VAC SAME WAY BUT DONT USE SKIMMER PUT HOSE OVER POOL AND DRAW WATER JUST ENOUGH TO CREATE A FLOW BY PUTTING THE END OF HOSE OUTSIDE POOL TO A WET VAC JUST LONG ENOUGH TO GET WATER FLOWING DONT KEEP IT CONECCTED LONGER THAN 20 TO 30 SECONDS GOOD LUCK
