Problem I was taking a photograph of my CCTV camera with infra red night vision. The screen went blurred and then blank. After a few mins the full picture returned but is now a mirror image and upside down! Do you think the infra red is the cause, or is it just coincidental? Can the problem be rectified? I've tried the reset button but nothing happens.

It isnt the infra red.

on you dvr machine there should be settings or settings on the camera for mirror and flip.

these are features on better cameras and are normally on the camera body, but veiwable on the cctv monitor. they should be menu driven.

I hope this will be of help

How do you get the camera to night vision please?

Google

make model manual

If it home CCTV, it has to be an infra-red camera with the red LEDs in a ring around the lens. Then there are two versions, on all the time based on time of day or ambient light sensor, or motion sensing turns the IR lights on.

'make model (what is is)' in all questions please. It could also be a Trail Camera or an IR Night Sight for hunting or Night Vision Monocular.

What is CCTV Camera?

A CCTV camera or Closed Circuit Television camera is simply a camera device that connects back to a central control box for displaying it's video output. Most cameras provide colour video during daytime and black and white video at night using infra red light. The camera is powered by a power cable from the control box and the video transmitted via a coaxial cable. The term closed circuit is the connection of the cabling back to the control box.

Bunker hill security color camera model 95914 suppose to have night vision, has the led lights that circle around the lens. Should those lights be red or at least light up for night vision? I can't see...

If the LEDS are truly for night vision only, then they are most likely Infra-Red types, invisible to the human eye, but visible to camera sensor. A way to test if they are IR and working is to point another digital camera directly at the front of the security camera at night.
The cell phone or webcam sensor will see IR LED's as white spots.
As for this model coming with night vision, I don't know.

The voltage should be good. It is possible the Infra-red emitter tube might be at fault.

The night vision can work under a full moon, so test the vision part to make sure it is working correctly. If you have an infra red/IR remote control for your TB set, you can test the might vision using that remote to see if the night vision is working.

You can use a second working unit to see if the illuminator is actually working. The illumination is not visible light without assistance.

Hi im using Canon ixus 95 IS. How do i use it to take photos in the dark room or at night? Can i use it to take clear photos in the dark room?

Simple check - point any old Infra-red remote control at the camera. If you see a blue flash from the transmitting end of the remote wand, chances are you may be able to equip and use an infra-red illumination lamp. If there is a tripod mounting hole in the bottom of the camera, you may be able to find a packaged illuminator with bracket and compatible tripod screw post to make the camera an all in one, single handed device.

Many cameras are sensitive to near~ middle infra-red but incorporate a "hot filter" to mitigate the effects. Daytime exposures outdoors are FULL of infra-red background radiation that can upset the color balance of the photograph captured. Using an illuminator "saturates" the hot filter and the area in front of the camera, giving it a little help to "see" clearly in a low-light situation.
