Short in board or behind. Do not run the dryer. Remove back cover and look for obvious black marks. Replace as necessary. Dryers get banged around and hopefully it is an easy find. It could be the board itself. I'll hope for a small short that can be fixed with electric tape.

Check for bursted electrolytic capacitors at its main power supply regulator board. It will be best to replace the board as card basis, rather than making any 'surgery' to it. If you wish to get more details, check this link. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Selecting the view option, either to Mosaic /Timeslide, can be selected by the drop-down list, at the top left of the display window, will make surf easy. You can also do a search, by type in the brand name / model number / IC used, in the search box at the top right of the display window.

Smoke...screen blinking

The circuit board or display board is burned out. There is nothing you can do, take it to a Brother repair shop. Ask for an estimate, it might be expensive.

It might still be under warranty... Look at you bill of sale and check your warranty regarding electronic parts.

If I try to drag something into the dock it disappears...

Drag the file you are trying to put into the dock to the right of the silver line at the right of the dock. The file you want to delete, let it disappear in the 'puff of smoke' and then go into Macintosh HD and find the file and drag it over the trash icon. I hope it works!

Thanks, Logan

Panasonic NN-S789WC - No power on Display, Fuse OK, bulb Lights

The fuse will be a white or gray ceramic fuse, and you really can't tell if it's blown without actually measuring it. If a new fuse blows when you hit START, you probably have a shorted high voltage capacitor. If you have replaced the fuse and still have no display, then it sounds like there's a problem on the control board. The control board has a built-in surge protector which can short (and smoke) and when it does, it will cut the power to the control board, but not blow the fuse. We repair these nationwide for only $39.95 postpaid. If you or a friend want to check it out or send the control unit in for serivce, we have *critical* safety and disassembly info at our site, which is linked at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk
