Question about Sanyo DP32746 32 in. LCD Television
Unit Turns On, small flash of light on screen, then no Picture.
Can not get any display on screen, nothing, not even the menu shows up
Under 1-yr old, looks like a trip to Wal-mart for an exchange
My DP32746 went black just like everyone else describes after 16 months. Walmart said to me when I tried to return it that they only work with you until 90 days and Sanyo said about the same thing excpet their number is one year. If you won oneof these tv's you are screwed to the tune of whatever you pad for it. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau today (www.bbb.org) and I urge everyone to take 30 minutes and fill out the complaint. Here is the text of mine if you want to paste it into your compliant.
The product DP32746 LCD TV failed before one tenth of reasonable period for the useful service life had expired. Research indicates this model is prone to inverter failure at about one year of operation on average and that the failure is systematic in nature and is experienced by a large number of owners of the product. When the product fails it is rendered completely useless and repairs are prohibitively expensive.

Its the backlight inverter board. i just fixed my sanyo DP32746 myself in 1/2 hour. researching here, i found moniserv online store,i found the part (heres the link) http://www.lcdparts.net/LCDTVInverterdetail.aspx?InverterOriginal=VIT71008.60 they are in san francisco, and i happen to live in s.f. so i went there in person and picked up the board ,it was $179.99 + tax got home switched it out myself with a philips head screwdriver and a small nut driver .i dont have any special training or skills and it was an easy fix . sanyo were total **** about this problem i took a chance on doing the fix myself and im glad i did . good luck.

The problem is not in the panels themself, its the backlight inverter. Parts 62.70 from Sanyo.

I fall in the same boat i've had this tv a year and a half and all of a sudden the screen is black. We need to get together as a group and force a recall on these televisions. I feel I've been "taken" as a customer. If Sanyo feels any obligation to their paying customers they would take innitiative immediately. Somehow I think that won't happen. What a surprise. Thanks for a piece of garbage Sanyo, nothing like wasting hard earned money. Should've bought a Sony huh.

I would strongly suggest that people who are having problems with this tv and there appear to be many, submit a complaint to the BBB. It takes time and is a hassle but Sanyo needs to know the quality of their product stinks. https://odr.bbb.org/odrweb/public/ComplaintExport.aspx

I took mine in to the Sanyo authorized repair shop and they found the screen itself was bad. Sanyo sells the new screen for $1100, almost double what I paid for it. The repair tech said they do that intentionally.
