You will not find any software to do this on the Panasonic website. They only supply instruction manuals and firmware upgrades. However you don't need any installation CD. This camera is a web server so it contains all its own software. All you need is to type in the local network IP address (default is 192.168.0.253) into your Internet Browser and then enter your ID and password into the screen that pops up. The installation CD is just scanning your network to look for a camera on some IP address and it makes things a little easier if you have multiple cameras. All the rest of the setup is actually in the camera's Active-X software. If you previously set the camera up with a different IP address and/or port number and you have forgotten it, or you can't remember your User ID and password, (write it down the next time) you may have to reset the camera (see the small reset switch on the underside of the camera) and you will have to start from scratch. But you don't need the installation CD. The camera will ask you exactly the same questions as the CD. Typically you will have to set it up first in wired mode with an Ethernet cable to your router, but this is only because the camera doesn't know the SSID of your wireless network until you tell it (go to Setup/Wireless when you have logged into the camera.) Once you have put in the required wireless info, you just flick the switch on the underside to Wireless Mode and it should all work just fine.

I can't get that website to work...is 192.168.0.253 still a valid web address?

Check out the website - probably best to purchase the operating manual as you will have to reset the cam to factory mode and re-program it. You will need an ethernet cable as well to set up the router to recognise the webcam

How to record transmission of BL-C131

Hi,

To view over the internet,
1. setup a wifi with internet active.
2. Insert the CD which came with the cam into your laptop which is connected to the wifi as well. Follow instructions. It is simple. If you need help, click here.
3. Make a new DDNS account if you don't have a static public ip (if you don't know what that is, you dont have one).

You are ready to go.

I'm having problems connecting. I ran the initial CD setup and everything seemed to run fine but when I try to access the 10.0.0.253 I receive an error message. The camera is set to wired and is...

"I receive an error message" (sic) What is it exactly, what happens? Also Install everything as Administrator, ALSO set the setup/install program's .exe in, Compatibility Mode for XP SP2. and Run the actual program's .exe as Administrator, too. Ensure all network settings are correct too.

BL-C131 port forwarding.

So you've configured port forwarding on the router. Do you have any anti-virus applications installed or have your set an exclusion in Windows firewall?

I dont have the installation cd and i dont know how to get the drivers

  1. Goto: http://panasonic.net/pcc/support/netwkcam/download/
  2. Select download site. I clicked on the USA flag.
  3. Scroll down and find your model: BL-C131A
  4. Click on one of the icons to the right of the model number to download either firmware, drivers, or manuals for this camera. In this case, I'd click on the All column to see everything available for your camera

I bought a Panasonic BL-C10 and a BL-C111a on ebay,need set up cd

I found a site for you to download the drivers for a BL-C111. The BL-CL10A is there to I beleive.
Copy this address to your browser and o there and download the driver.
Then
Normal 0 Try disconnecting the Camera from the USB port and install the downloaded software program. When the program asks you to connect the camera to the USB port, do so and it should work.
Then to use it on the Web do this.
Web Camera’s have to be setup on the program they are to be used with. Just installing the camera on your computer does not set it up to broadcast on messengers or Skype.
Each program has Options that have to be setup in order for the Audio and Video to function properly.
A. Skype Setup:
After downloading and installing Skype (http://www.skype.com/intl/en-gb/download/skype/windows/beta/downloading/ ) set it up as follows:
  1. Go to Tools, then Options, and click on Audio Settings and set the Microphone and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
  2. Then click on the Video Settings.
  3. The camera if Installed Properly will come up and show a video picture.
  4. Then, on the bottom of the page click on Save.
The camera and audio should function properly. Your friends and Family will now be able to see and her to you.
B. Yahoo Setup:
After downloading and installing Yahoo Messenger (http://www.soft32.com/download_30.html ) set it up as follows:
  1. Go to Messenger at the top left and click on it.
  2. Next go down to Preferences and click on it.
  3. Next Calling and Devices on the right and set the Microphone and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
  4. Next go to the Test Audio section and (in blue writing) click on “Open the call setup assistant” and follow the instructions on the left window.
C. Windows Live Messenger:
  1. After you start Windows Live Messenger, expand the view by clicking on the square on top left next to the red X.
  2. Then on the Windows Live messenger window on the right side, click on “ “Show Menus.” And then click on “Show the Menu Bar”.
  3. Next go to the Menu Bar on right side, click on “ “Action.”
  4. Go to “TOOLS” and click “Audio and Video Setting” and follow the instructions.
NOTE: You audio and video should work. Enjoy.
When done both the Audio and Video will function properly so you can chat and see family or friends you are connected to.
Hope this helps. Bud
