Check your remote it may be in a different mode or your wires or cables maybe disconnected also sounds like your auto shut off has been activated

Yes, replace the lamp.

The flashing light red power light should only stay while the fan cool down for about 1 minute after a power off (remember to always wait before unplugging the TV so the lamp can cool down with the fan). Does that flashing start right away after plugging back the TV after an hour of letting it without AC power.

The red light should flash no longer than 10 sec. This prepare the light to be turned on. If all is OK the green should stay (no longer flashing) and the sound and picture come on.

As for the lamp flashing, i bet it's only 1 time each 5 sec? Or do it group many rapid flash each 5 sec?

Things that can be wrong:
-the fan lamp

-the lamp is not proprely inserted (wait an hour before manipulating it to be sure it cooled down, and use glove to not put body oil on it).

-Lamps is defective and is not operating properly so you can't get to the usual on screen message that recommend to change the lamp.

This is an on-going problem with DLP sets. Normally you shut the set off and the cooling fan cools the lamp down and then it shuts off. In your case, of which it's not your fault, however your lamp has taken a major hit by not properly cooling down, in turn, you need to replace your lamp at this time.
I suggest in the future if you have an electrical storm and a chance of a power outage while your watching tv, I would'nt play that model or any other model of a DLP set.

The CLS problem. Im thinking that at least you made a visual inspection of the power suply and the capacitors around it. Then if everything normal in the area then the microdisplay (inside the ligth engine) can be damaged. (when the tv is working normally the microdisplay sends a pulse to turn on ballast and lamp finally.

The sweetkyman: when the fan is bad th tv shuts down imm. (if you unplug the fan when the tv is working normal the computer detects the overcurrent system works and shuts down the set) when a fan is all dirty and tons of dust on it the tv tends to work but after some hours the tv shuts down.

This will have to be narrowed down to a specific problem. I would try the easiest things first. First check the lamp. Is it bad or just starting to go bad or does it just need to be reseated with the ballast? If the ballast flickers when turning on your TV, then you will know it is the lamp that is not working or the ballast may need to be replaced. If that is not the problem next check to see if the color wheel is spinning or broken. If broken, it will need to be replaced. If not spinning it is the DMD board that is bad. The color wheel is plugged into the DMD board. If the DMD board is good it will spin the color wheel, that is what will start your lamp. When you lamp starts, you have your picture.

cutta, you will most often hear a click on boot then the fans start up and lamp will then fire. The picture will start to show up....at what point does it shut off? and do you hear a click when the tv is turning off? Is it the complete tv shutting down, fans and everything that turns off? Do you see any lights on the the front panel "POWER", "STATUS" or "LAMP", what are they doing? If you see a Power, Status or Lamp light after it shuts off the below are what they mean if there is an issue. POWER - STATUS - LAMP - CONDITION/ISSUE: Off - Yellow - Off - Temp. high/dirty filter/excess room temp Off - Off - Yellow - 4000 hrs. Lamp usage warning Off - Off - Blink Yellow - Lamp Cover open Off - Blink Yellow - Off - Air Filter Cover open Off - Off - Red - Lamp failure (failed to turn On or broken) Off - Blink Red - Off - Fan Has Stopped Off - Red - Off - Circuit failure (short) or DVI cable disconnected If you want to check for the last "Error Code", after you first turn the TV on, by pressing the front panel ?DEVICE? and ?MENU? buttons at the same time and holding them for 5 seconds, it activates the Error Code Mode. The ?Power LED Light? blinks/flashes (1/2 sec delay) and then flashes again denoting a two digit Error Code indicating no problem or an error has occured since the last Initalization. i.e. "Power light" blinks 3 times (1/2 second delay) and then blinks 4 times then 1 sec delay and repeats a few times. This would mean "Error 34 - Lamp abnormality". See below for error codes..... Error Code - Description or issue 12 - No Error detected, check Power Supply 32 - Lamp Cover is open 33 - Air Filter Cover is open 34 - Lamp abnormality 36 - Light Engine (DMD or LAMP Fan stopped) 37 - Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped 38 - Lamp temperature high 39 - DMD temperature high 41 - Short is detected 44 - DVI cable between FMT & Engine disconnected. If it's staying on for just a short period of time it sounds like there is a sensor that is giving the unit a faulty condition (Perhaps for reason or due to a fault in the sensor). There are normally a few temp sensors in the TV around the Lamp and Ballast. They may be bad, or the lamp or ballast is just generating too much heat.
