Question about Akai DC6371 Digital Camera

Malfunctiong lens due to drop

My 1  year old granddaughter grabbed the wrist strap and pulled it off of the table on to the floor. Since, the lens only extends about 50%. When you power on, the blades close almost completely. When you power off the lens retracts and the blades open fully. I have tried to shoot photos in this condition. They are a complete blur. All other functions still work fine i.e. menu etc. I really liked this camera. I have lost all papers associated with warranty or repair service and have no clue how to contact AKAI about repair and price. Is it even worth repairing? I would greatly appreciate any assistance you could give me regarding this matter.

My wrist band is coming apart. The area near the display is coming arpart, and the last loop is pulling out if I use that one. My fitbit is not a year old yet.

Fitbit have a warranty of 1 year.

If you still have the receipt and you've had it less than a year then you should be able to send it back for a replacement if its due to normal use.

Lens will not extend when turned on message on screen lens error

Hi,

This error indicate that focusing ring got stuck or jammed due sand, dust or may be due to external shock caused by dropping the device.
  • Try compressed air. With a fine tip blow off gun around lens barrel. It should remove all dust and sand. Turn the camera on this will solve the problem.
  • You can gently bump the camera to try to free the focusing ring.
  • You can try to turn camera ON at the table (facing it to the ceiling), don't put camera down face to the floor when opening.

If motor is running but lens won't retract sometimes lens would slip off with the gear or break off a tooth in the gear when it gets dropped. Try to gently move the lens barrel around with the finger and see if it is moving, but if tooth or gear is broken lens will move once or twice then it will stuck again.

Else your camera need to be disassembled to get at the focusing ring at Service Center.

Thanks and have a nice day

How do I install the wrist ******** my vivitar vivicam 5022?

The wrist strap hole is on the upper right corner of the outside body when you are looking through the viewfinder. Thread the skinny end (or one end) of the wrist strap through that strap hole. As soon as a little loop (like 1 inch) is poking out the other side, thread the thicker (or the other) end of the strap through that loop that's poking out of the strap hole. pull tight.

PLease "accept" so i get credit!! Thanks, Scott

Adjusting the shoulder straps on the Maclaren volo stroller

What year is your Volo. Different years adjust differently. The newer ones have 3 height adjustment slots and a slider that adjusts the strap itself. They do not adjust way down though and even with teh straps as tight as they will go, they are still a little loose on my 15 month old granddaughter. I have found that buy tightening the waist straps it does keep her a little more secure.

Camera was dropped with lense out

These cameras are much too fragile to survive a drop, using the wrist strap is an absolute necessity.

Canon PowerShot SD600 Digital Cameral Lens Problem

Adeliak,
This service is free, with advice provided from hobbyists and knowitalls (like me hehehe). Were you asked by someone for a fee? Recommend reporting them to Fixya.

As for your specific problem, lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension.

Here's some things that you can do to try to correct it. They only seem to work for about half of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty, they're worth a try:

Straps nearly impossible to tighten!

If you grab the straps up at the top near the shoulder and pull hard you can get a bit of slack at the bottom, they are ridiculously difficult to pull, I have twins and both seats are the same, there should be a handle to pull at the bottom but it just takes strong fingers to do it without that.
