FRS26R4CB0-Freezer not freezing and Fridge not getting Cool

Freezer not freezing and fridge not cooling... A few days ago I noticed the drinks were slushy on the fridge side. So we cleaned underneath and behind where the motors and thins are and today the freezer isn't freezing and the fridge isn't that cold. Its about 10 1/2 years old.

Hi Candi,

I don't know this model but most friges are the same,
Check on the bottom back, there should be a radiator with a small fan
installed.

If the fan is not working this maybe your problem,
It is not colling the gas.

You also may have a gas leak or the gas compressor is not working
or starting to work because of a faulty capcacitor.

SOURCE: Frigidaire Side-By-Side Top Not Cooling

sounds like its froze up. the coil is in the back of the freezer and blows into the freezer via a fan then cold air is carried to the fridge via another fan. more than likely condensation due to weather conditions has built up on your coil and has froze up or your fridge fan has stopped working. unplug fridge for a day to let thaw, if this doesnt work check you air distribution fan in top.
as for the lights not working in the freezer the switch is on the left hand side of freezer wall under ice holding tank sometimes water from thawing ice get on it and it wont come out all the way, take a blow dryer to it to thaw and dry it out.

SOURCE: Frigidaire model ftr18b freezer works, fridge is only cool

Info relating specifically to the Frigidaire FRT18B5ABB:

1.Refrigerator unplugged remove the bottom back panel. (Access cover with label. The rectangular shaped panel on the back, at the bottom) Place the screws in a container.
Also remove the Kickplate Grille in the front, and the defrost pan.

2.Use the wand tip on your vacuum cleaner, and vacuum this area out. Pay special attention to the condenser coils, and the fan. Use care as you don't want to bend the fan blades. After you have vacuumed up as much as possible, see if your vacuum has where you can attach the hose to blow air through it. An air compressor, hose, and air nozzle would be REAL handy right now! Blow the condenser coils, and all areas clean of any gunk. (Hair, spider webs, etc.) If this is not feasible for you, you'll need some sort of long, thin, dust 'bunny', and have to dislodge this 'gunk' physically. Then vacuum.

3.BE SURE to replace the bottom back panel, (Access Cover)! It is a VERY necessary item! If your fridge doesn't have one at present, make a temporary one of cardboard, and tape it on. This access cover is needed.

If your refrigerator side is only cool, and your freezer is cold, you may have a problem with the Cold Control, (Temperature Control), or the Defrost Timer. (Timer-Defrost)

Freezer fan only run sometimes

If you nudged the fan and it started working it could be defective and needs to be replaced or it could be freezing up because of freezing condensation. Be sure that all the coils under and behind the fridge, if there are any,
are free from dirt and dust. If this is a refridg/freezer be sure the air vent between them, on the inside, is not blocked by anything. The airflow is necessary for proper temp control.

Samsung SR 61KTC fridge not cooling but freezer is fine fans seemed to be very noisy a few days ago now sound like not on at all

Had the same problem when the door switch broke. The electronics of the fridge thought the door was open and therefore the fridge would not cool. I noticed that the light wouldn't turn off when the door was closed to discover the switch was broken. It was an $11 part which my husband replaced and the fridge works fine now.

SAMSUNG RS253BAWW NOT WORKING

the ice maker wont cycle untill the temp of the ice is around 10 degrees so if the freezer is at 15 or 20 due to some other malfunction then you will see the maker full of ice but it wont harvest and make another batch. so you could have a sensor bad, control malfunction, refrigeration issue, compressor, defrost system malfunction(you mentioned ice build up)

Fridge and Freezer losing cooling

we bought a f&p fridge freezer and in summer noticed it wasn't cooling and the freezer wasn't freezing, when the service guy came out he noticed our ducted air con was blowing onto the fridge, once we had redirected the air con outlet the fridge started working as normal, apparently f&p's work on air being convected around the cabinet of the fridge and air blowing on the fridge can effect the temperature of the convected air. hope this helps you or someone

Samsung RS2555SL humming noise

don't know this model specifically, but have had loads of problems with these samsung fridge-freezers. the no water in drinks dispensor is probably due to the water bottle at the bottom of the fridge being frozen. this is endemic with samsung the noise you hear is ice hitting fan. samsung use two systems for fan. the one i think you have is separate fans for fridge and freezer and a separate evaperator for fridge and freezer. take of the back plate of the fridge and you will find the fan mounted in it. disconnect the plug and socket connection. you will probably find ice build up round the fan blade. melt off with hot water. the bar you had showing on the "8" is a fault code - the most common fault being the defrost termination sensor. unless you are experienced, this is not really a diy appliance
