Screen displays little squares instead of picture, when you first turn it on there is a picture for a split second, then it goes back to digital squares.Everything else works fine, sound, channel functions, guide for the cable is visible on the screen, but channels are all digital squares.

SOURCE: 37" Polaroid LCD TV No signal appears when select channel

I was having same problem, and think I got lucky and found fix.

Try unplugging the TV and waiting 30 seconds, then plug back in.

You will likely get blue screen with "No Signal".

Go to Menu, then scroll down to "Setup". Select "Factory Reset" then hit "Yes."

This did it for me. Wish you all luck.

SOURCE: Can't fix polaroid tv help!

Well a couple of questions if I may.
1) How do you have the TV connected to the Cable box?
A) Composite cable 'usually a yellow colored RCA to another Yellow RCA connector' and then plugged into your TV's Video input. This will only give you 3x4 video aspect as its only limited to 480 lines of resolution. This would explain why you only get a 3x4 aspect.
B) Component cables, Usually three cables 'RCA connector's 'Red, Green and Blue' colored ends.
This will give you output resolutions of 720i up to 1080P which is your High Definition outputs and will fill your screen from top to bottom and side to side if your cable box can actually receive High Def. It should since all local Television stations had to go to Digital HD last June 09.
Happy Thanks Giving,
Blessings always,
A/V Media Tech Guy

Sometimes, when I take a picture with my 40d the automatic shutter speeds that display can fluctuate dramatically from 100th of a second to 10th of second in just a split second before I press the shutter,...

your camera is probably set to SPOT exposure instead of AVERAGE exposure,. Which means, your camera is taking readings from a smaller area within the frame instead of using the whole frame to decide exposure. When in spot exposure you can move a hair and the exposure will change dramatically. does this make sense? put your camera back into average metering.

Screen flashes only for a split-second (as a second display for an iMac)

The inverter is faulty. If your Monitor is powered by a mains'kettle' type lead, then it MAY be repairable, provided you can find someone to do it.If you have an external power supply, then the chances are you have a separate inverter, and it is doubtful whetther you can find the fault or a replacement circuit board....which is why we have become a throw away nation !!

Flash is delaying

The self-timer is on. Press the button on the back of the camera to the right of the displays just under the AV button. The display icon will change from :-
Hand sweeping round clock = self timer mode
Simple square = single shot mode
Stacked squares = multi shot (keep finger pressed to keep shooting)

No picture on tv when i turn on dvd. get split screen black & whi

Give this a try. Using your user's manual, locate the "Configuring your recorder" section. Under this section there will be "System setup - general" subsection. Being that you are unable to see anything on your tv display you will need to use your manual as your display. Press the "SETUP" key on your remote. Once again using your manual as your display, scroll down to "Restore factory settings" and press "ENTER" As long as you are located in North or Central America and using interlaced video outputs you should have your normal display back.
Hope this helps.

CANON POWERSHOT S2 IS 5 MEGA PIXELS

I bought mine 2 1/2 yrs ago too. Found this solution on this site and tried it. It worked perfectly.
Turn to TV mode, set the exposure to 15 seconds by pushing the little "arrow dial" until you have 15"
Push the button to take the picture.
Wait 7 seconds from when you push the button, then turn over and open the battery door while it is "taking the picture."
Close the battery door and turn back on.
I did this three times and the last time, it worked and the iris became unstuck.
Then I took a million pictures to get the iris moving.
Good luck!
