DS Lite touch screen

Hi! Just bought a white DS Lite, cause the ooooold grey one felt a bit clumsy in the end. The new baby worked perfectly fine, but soon I realised the touch screen's sensibility is lower than the old model. I tried my usual silky moves, but they didin't work, so I have to push the stylus a bit harder in order to have the touch screen function properly. Is it a separate incident & my DS is the one to blame or all of the Lite models have lower sensibiklity?

Thanx 4 the answer

George

I dont know... I think it just helped me identify where the problem is on my touchscreen. Perhaps I really do need a new ds.... The center part seems to be broken.

Try to recalibrate the touch screen.

turn on your DS

go to the SYSTEM OPTIONS

last available box, recalibrate.

i may be wrong, but try that anyways.

DS Lite top screen and mic not working properly. Good ole boyfriend tried to replace the casing and the mic on my nds lite, but apparantly, I'm the more technical talent of the two. The problem...

Hi - either the cable is not ALL the way in the connector ( double check) or the cabels damaged after install ( common) you need to repalce the entire screen on a ds lite as the cable is not detachable.
as for the mic - you will need some PCB rework on the motherboard to rectify that I'm afraid, contact us at www.dsdoctor.co.uk if you need any more help :-)

My ds lite will turn on and you can see the screen above but the bottom screen stays white. You can touch the bottom screen and it appears to respond to some interaction. What can I do to get things...

if you feel confident enough to open up the ds check ribbon cable is tightly in the connector, the clasp that hold the cable has a littke brown flip hinge on it and is quite fragile so take care.

You will have to gentley push the screen up towards you to find the riibon cable connecter. If the cable seems fine then the screen probably needs changing, but the screen is made up 2 parts, the screen and the touch screen membrane which lies on top and held in place by a bit of adhesive.

You have to seperate them by gently prizzing them apart, if you dont feel confident doing this you can buy replacement bottem screens fully made up, but it would be a shame to do this as the touch mambrane part of the screen seems like it is working. hope this helps a bit and good luck

Bottom touch screen of DS Lite unresponsive. Been working fine for over a year. Now out of guarantee period. What should I do?

Well, if you've touched the bottom of the screen with anything but the stylus, then that could be why it's unresponsive. I know that "the llama's adventures" has a DS screen repair kit, but it requires a bit of cash, time, and expertise.

Turns on and lights up but no images on top screen

The DS top screen has two components, which are the LCD display, and the backlight. If the LCD display has gone bad but the backlight still works and the connecter is seated properly, the DS will still power on and the lower screen will be normal, and the top screen will light, but it won’t display anything.

You didn’t mention if your DS is the original DS or the DS Lite. Replacement top screens for the DS Lite are cheap on eBay, but installing the screen is a bit complex. The screen for the original DS is a different part and they are more expensive and hard to find.

I’ve never worked on an original DS, so I can only tell you about installing the top screen on a DS Lite.

First, the DS Lite has to be just about completely disassembled. You have to completely remove the top and bottom cases, pull out the microphone and wi-fi cables, and release the connecter for the top screen, which is located on the main board in the lower case. You’ll need the tri-wing screwdriver. You can leave the bottom screen/touch screen assembly attached to the main board, but be careful not to pull or tear the flex cables. Check YouTube for videos on disassembling the DS Lite.

Here’s the deal breaker for most people: The speakers are soldered to the flex cable of the top screen. I’ve never seen a replacement sold with speakers. You’ll have to unsolder your speaker wires from the old screen cable and reconnect them to the new one. If you can’t solder, you could take the screens to a local tv/electronics repair shop and pay to have it done. I got this information for you from http://wiinewz.com/forums/nds-general-discussion/72805-ds-top-screen-white-blank.html this appears to be a common problem I hope this helps

Action replay input code buttons

Have you tried just using the Normal DS buttons rather than the touch screen? I don't know how bad your touch screen is calibration is for your AR (mines pretty close to fine), but if you find that the touch-screen is frustrating you too much, just use the normal DS buttons. Sure it will be a bit slower, but it won't be as frustrating.

Nintendo DS Lite bottem screen is white.

hi their is only i thing you can try yourself as if it is anything else it probably requires soldering and new parts.
on the bottom screen their will be a ribbon its really thin and will clip onto the board from the screen the same with the top one the only thing you can do yourself is check that the ribbon hasnt come out of the housing and is causing a bad conection it might have a sticky bit of thin tape over the conector this holds the ribbon in and prevents it from moving out of the connector you will need to check both ends of this.
try pushing the ribbon back into the conector without removing the tape and see if this solves the problem.
If you can see the clips holding the ribbon into the connector you can undo these should just clip open the remove the ribbon and put it back in again the push clips back to lock position.
If this dont solve your problem then the chances are you need the screen replacing but your problem is the same with mobile phoned and removing the ribbon and putting it back in again usually solves this problem let me know how you get on ok
