Hello
I've set that problem :
1/ Intall the JVC driver
2/ Import (not Capture) from JVC camera to G5 via the USB cable, you will have ".TOD" clips
3/ Convert ".TOD" to "Quick Time" with "Streamclip" software (free)
And you can edit with FCP
Best regards

Problem is with the ribbon cable interconnect between camera and screen. Available as spare, but very tricky to replace. Probably a camera shop is your best bet.

This is usually caused by a failed component in the power circuit within the camera and can usually be repaired fairly inexpensively.
