Question about Televison & Video

Mitsubishi Television Model WT42311 HD1080

I had a problem with my set being on Cable B while it should have been on Cable A and consequently all I was getting was snow on the screen. In an attempt to correct his I went into the setup mode and stupidly locked out all of the keys on the front of the television. Consequently I cannot get back in to the Setup menu.

I tried unplugging the set but to no avail.

I can turn the set on/off with my remote, RCA Universal Remote Model RCR612, I can change channels and I can adjust the volume. Clicking the menu button doesn't do anything.

How do I get into the unit's Setup Menu?

Checked the cable for this set. Other sets in house working fine.

My set has to be set CABLE-A but the screen shows CABLE-B. Normally I would be able to go into Menu, using keys on the front of the TV, go to Setup and change the cable designation BUT because the keys on the front of the TV are locked out, due to me inadvertenty locking out these keys in the TV Setup menu, I cannot access the Setup Menu.

I need to know how to unlock this command. Normally I am told that I should be able to access this program using my Remore Menu key but this is not happening.

When I try to use the MENU function on my remote nothing appears on the screen.

I do not have the original remote. I am using a universal remote RCA RCR12.

If you have your original remote to the tv press menu 2270 then select initial and then enter to reinitialize your tv.

I have a mitsubishi model wt42311 TV that will not stay on. The error code is 2 blinks a pause and 2 blinks. What needs to be fixed?

2,2 is short protection---it means one of the two soldered in fuses that protect the convergence circuit is bad.

What it really means is both of the STK-392-110 convergence chips this set uses need to be replaced---one of them got the fuse.

May be a do it yourself job if you know how to solder etc. Total parts cost should be under 30 dollars.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Nope, But your convergenjce chip is about to die. i would turn it off and leave it off and call a tech to rectify it before it takes out the whole board or all 3 as some capacitors are also overheating. Parts $100+Labour of about 1.5 hrs at this stage! later it will be $600

I have a Mitsubishi Model WT42311 Tv . It will not stay on . When you press the power button it tries to come on but turns itself off. Do you have any suggestions?

Yes, do the self check that this set has.

When you try to turn it on and the power light goes off:

On the front of the set press and hold both MENU and DEVICE (OR INPUT) for 5 seconds and release both buttons.

The power light will blink a two digit error code--for example--2 blinks, a pause and 2 blinks---it will repeat the code at least 5 times.

Let me know what code you find and I will tell you what it means and what may have to be done.

2,2 is the most common and the least expensive to fix.

You can use the DVI connection, or the digital HD rca connections on the back. You can also get a dvi to hdmi converter plug.

Replacement lamp on mitsubshi tv

That model can have two 3300uf capacitors that go bad on the PWB which will cause the set to detect a lamp abnormality and trigger a red light on the lamp. You can find out more info on it by going to the following link and leaving them a email with your model number and symptom.
