SOURCE: Toner Low Light on within 2 months of replaced toner cartridge

Yields for cartridges are based on a page being only 6% covered. Most letters are about 10% coverage. If you print anything with lots of print (especially bold) your yield will reduce drastically. The same thing goes for pictures.

My dell 1130 has a steady red light

Maybe there is problem with toner cartridge (maybe it is empty or problem with the chip), paper jam or some mechanical problem. Try to take out the toner cartridge and put it back. If the blinking still exist try to replace the chip (or refill the toner cartridge) or check for paper jam. Maybe there is small part of paper - look carefully.
good luck.

Screen reads no cartridge when there is a full cartridge in the printer

This is a pretty common item, usually for HP printers however I've also seen this with non-HP printers. They REALLY want you to use genuine HP or Dell ink/toner in their printers since they make lots of money on consumables. That being the case, there is a chip on most original (OEM) toner cartridges that tells the printer that its a genuine cartridge. If you purchase aftermarket/remanufactured/3rd party toner to save a few dollars, they frequently don't have these chips, however other than that they work just fine.
If you have purchased a Staples/Office Max or some other non Dell branded toner, that's likely what happened. My suggestion is to live with this minor annoyance and just wait until the print begins to get lighter in color. THAT will be your indication that its about time to change the toner.
If you get this same issue with a new Dell branded toner, then you may want to try to find this chip and use a pencil eraser to carefully clean the electrical contacts on the toner cartridge. That may help the printer read the cartridge chip easier.
Hope this helps! Best of luck!

There is a red flash light on a control panel. What to do?

The toner is nearing the end of its life. You will notice printing may become faded. Replace the toner cartridge and the red light should go away.

Toner cartridge doesn't work

It's the chip (circuit). It's terrible quality control that you would get 2 the same. Lexmark makes the printer for Dell, however some chips are proprietary (Lexmark Only, etc) Interested to know if this is supposedly a universal cartridge . Maybe Lexmark E232, 332, etc.? Somehow they must have mixed up the chip supply in the remanufacturing process, and these are Lexmark chips only???? Just guessing.
Anyway, the chip is the problem. I'd return it and go somewhere else for the compatible, but it's up to you.

False Toner message

Are you using genuine HP toners? If not HP puts a chip on there cartridges that tells the machine it is a new cartridge. Some generic toners do not replace this chip therefor giving you this false message.
