I accidentally just pressed the refresh button, so i dont want to explain everything about my problem all over again. in a nutshell, my ps2 dropped. the sound from the game that i was playing immediately stopped, and the disc came out. further examination showed that the motor was going (i could hear it) but it wasn't turning the disc-spinner. please tell me what to do, and possibly if i will have to take it to the repairshop or whatever. PLEASE HELP! <:'(
OKAY, peoples, i meant to say that my ps2 was a slim. Note to cerfer: thx for trying. Also as a note, my game was still working when the disc popped out. After my bro and I finished our naruto battle, it usually goes to the 'stats&etc' screen, but it just stopped at PLAYER2WINS!, and thats when i restarted the game and it wouldnt work. Of course, when discs come out of ps2's the game thats playing still works a little bit, so this is kinda irrelevant.
Hey, i think what happpened is the laser got bumped out of aliment, you can fix it your self( i have a slim ps as well,) but if its still under warrenty , you can get it fixed through sony. other wise wehn you talk to them, tell em that the gamse are running slow, and thell send you a new one for $45.00

I've got something else to add.......you can follow above steps to play DVD movies if your PS2 dont play any.....!!!
that happened to me. you could ether try every possibility.................................. don't do that! you just have to call the company and explain what happened and they can change the password for you . if you don't know the number use the power of the internet
Put a DVD into the PS2 and let it try to load. When the screen says chenge to level four select yes. When the entry window pops up,press the select button on the controller. It should say reset password or something like that. Put in 7444. Then when you rename the password put in 0000. You will have to do it again 0000. Once the movie starts, not the menu screen, but the movie actually playing, Press Select button again. The PS2 DVD menu should appear. Cursor over to the toolbox or Setup, and press X. Cursor over to the third icon, and press X. Arrow down to PArental and press X. Change the Parental lockout to OFF.
I am not completely sure about the procedure here but the numbers are correct.
You are posted in the Big PS2 section, so I hope you got a Big PS2, not a slim. If you do have a slim, I think your motherboard is shot. If you do have the big PS2, you need to open th case up and Disassemble it to find out whats wrong. Your probably have a SCPH-50001 and when you dropped it some of the plastic inside broke.
You need to remove the 8 screws on the bottom, which are hidden by square screw covers. You can pop the screw covers up with a knife blade. Remove the Warranty label on the cases seam next to where the power cable hooks in. Lift the case from the back slightly and pull it forward just enough to clear the CD drawer. Then roll the over cover counter clockwise being carfeul not pull reset/eject button cable loose. In this motion lay the case cover to the right side upside down.
Now remove the little screws holding the cd Drive cover on. Yo may ned to use a screwdriver to put in the rectangle holes and pry outward to release the catch at the back of the CD drive cover. See if you see any damage and write back a comment here . Hope this helps.
