I resoled mine this morning with some soling material that happened to be kicking around the house. They are expensive here and it is cheaper to resole. If it is expensive to resole there, why not send them off the island?

I would say that they can. A better quality shoe repair shop can do this for you. There are materials available to make this work.

You can get them resoled. A shoe repair shop can help you with this unlesss you have some shoe findings at your house. In that case, a Helmitin glue might be the best and a vibram full outsole. Grind the old outser sole off with your finisher and make sure that it is even. Put the glue on both sides and then put the sole on and put it in the press at 1-1.5 torr
