Because you can switch the inputs between digital and analog. You can switch TV and DBS and also Tape and MD.

How to get sound to tv from JVC TH-M606 without sub woofer. Also trying to put in progressive mode without remote

Hi,
  • If I understand your question correctly you want to listen your TV on your Stereo system thru your receiver,JVC TH-M606 ** you need to connect "Audio Output " RCA jacks or "Optic cable output" of your TV
** to "AUX input " or "TV" OR "Any input" of your receiver ( except Phone ) or "Optic Cable input"
** than just switch to respective mode on
JVC TH-M606 RECEIVER corresponding your RCA or Optic connection...
There you go..Your TV sound is on the
JVC TH-M606 Receiver..By this means whatever you watch on the TV (tuner, satellite , Xbox ) ,it's sound will come thru your stereo..

  • If you want to listen your receiver thru your TV, sorry but it is not a preferable attempt since TV sound system is not a HI-FI quality compare to your nice Receiver..if you really want to do it,try to do the connections given above in reverse..
  • And,best of my knowledge I am afraid you can not put in progressive mode without remote

  • Hope this helps!

How do i hook up my tv to the sound system so i can hear regular tv through the speakers? I can hear it when i play a dvd but not regular tv shows.

The simplest way would be to run RCA cables from your Cable Box analog audio out (if THAT is where your TV programming comes from) to the available Audio In on the JVC. Page 9.

If the cable box has coaxial or optical digital audio OUT, run THAT (instead of the analog audio) to the correct Digital In connector. Page 8 and 9

This would free up the analog audio from the cable box to send directly to the TV's audio input for causal programming, like news, so you wouldn't need the JVC on.

Can I get surround sound while watching TV programs with this system abd if so how do I connect to TV

Yes, IF your cable or satellite box has an optical digital audio out connector...

Page 10: "Connecting a digital component"

http://www.retrevo.com/support/JVC-TH-S3-Home-Theater-Systems-manual/id/318ag405/t/2/

NOTE

When playing a video component such as a DBS tuner or cable box;

• To listen to the sound, select "AUX DIGITAL" as the source to play.

(See page 14.)

• To see the picture, connect the video output jack of the component to

the video input jack of the TV directly, and select the correct input
mode on the TV.

How can I get sound from cable tv to come out jvc th-c50

You need to a cable connection from your TV to either:
  • the AUX (in) connectors at the back of the main unit. This is usually done with a simple RCA-cable, assuming that your TV has analog audio output.
  • To the main units optical (digital) input through an optical cable, assuming that your TV has a similar output.
Good luck!

JVC TH-C60 DBS stopped working

When you say the "TV side" you really mean the Cable or Satellite Box audio, right? There's no digital optical connection intended for the physical TV.

I hope you're not really looking directly into the cable with your naked eye. A safer way to visually check for the presence of red laser is to hold a thin piece of white paper up against the cable and observe the spot.

With your remaining good eye, look INdirectly or hold a thin piece of white paper in front of the the optical port on the JVC to see if there is a visible red glow. Most likely the cable itself is the problem. Make sure it has large open loops rather than tight bends throughout its routing.

Digital Optical port to 8-pin din

Optical digital cables can't be magically wired to copper inputs. NO digital signal can be magically connected to an analog interface and work.

Even if you could do what you propose, how would you control volume?

Why don't you just connect the BluRay to the JVC system and let IT handle the audio to the sub and satellites?

Run an optical cable to the JVC TH-C60's Optical In port. Make sure there are no tight bends in the optical cable as that will degrade its ability to transmit a signal.

Cannot get sound from tv to surround sound speakers

you will need to connenct audio cables red and white from audio out on tv or from programming source(cable box sat box) to the audio in on back of jvc unit. then set unit to appropiate source (where you connect cables on back of unit it will be labaled and remote will have button to get to that connection labeled the same) if you want to get digital sound you will need and digital coaxial or fiber optical cable from source(cable box or sat box) and then set unit to video 1 for coaxial and video 2 for optical

Setting Up Surround Sound with satellite tv digital tuner

What model do you have?

You should be able to plug the audio/video output from the satellite TV system into the audio/video input on the JVC system. Then set the JVC system to the appropriate input.

I need to know the exact model to know how or if this is even possible. Some JVC models don't let you input any additional devices. Others might not have the inputs that are necessary for surround.
