Question about Samsung CLP-315W Laser Color Printer

Samsung CLP-315 prints half a page and then stops & jams. Interior is clean. Our CLP-315 is doing the same thing. Only had it 6 months. The paper stops printing half way through and you have to open the back. Then when you close the door up it finishes printing the rest of the paper. For the last 2 months every time it prints a document it will squeak as it starts the print job. Something inside is rubbing when the printer feeds the paper. Could be related??

Probably a faulty photo interruter - common problem on these. The part is Samsung 0604-001393 Not too difficult to change and many videos on You tube showing how it is done.

Hello,

It sounds like your fuser is causing the jame,.

when you remove the paper can you wipe the toner off the page or does it adhear to the paper ?

If it does not the fuser is causing the jam, if the toner does not wipe off the paper then the feed tires would be the cause of your jam

The fuser is at the back of the printer and will be very hot, so be careful.

The problem is a faulty photo interrupter on the outfeed. Common problem with these.
The part you need is Samsung 0604-001393

at the fuser unit. thes is the part were the printer get very hot with a red and gray roller.

If the printer prints only the first few and the last few inches of the page, then my guess is that it's a hardware problem. It may be an issue of the transfer rollers or the development roller that only develops a fraction of the page. In either case, this may mean that you'll have to replace the print assembly, or it may just be an issue of busted capacitor on the mainboard. You will have to take the printer to a repair shop for inspection.

This is the infamous exit sensor problem. Watch this video on YouTube: 5fJHykzkfww

You can try to clean it but that probably will not work. Go to eBay and get the part for about $10. The video shows you how to make the repair in about 15 minutes.

If it jams every page, it is the infamous Samsung design flaw. There are dozens of reports of this problem all over the internet. The best solution: sell it or otherwise get rid of it ASAP and buy another type or model of printer. The 2nd best solution: call trained technician and ask to replace the broken part. It could be thermistor near fuser, some people say it is a photo-interrupter.

Paper exit sensor on the fuser is faulty and is a cheap part to replace!Had the same thing on another m/c!Good luck!

Hi,

most likly hood is your exit sensor is faulty. The printer work in this way. if it does not print out all the document. it will print again. that is why you kept getting this same issue after a jam open and close door it will print again.

replace the exit sensor it will help.

Chek paper size (A4, letter...etc)in driver options and compare it whit your file settings (fo example - you trying to print something whit paper size A4 but printer expect letter format...etc)

Sounds like the "Fuser". I have the same problem. Samsung wants $135 labor plus parts [$135+]. Printer can be purchased for less. Mine is going into the garbage and I'll stick with Epson.

You'll probably have to replace the exit sensor (lots of people have this problem). Go to YouTube and watch this video: 5fJHykzkfww

You can get the part on eBay for about $10 and it's a fairly simple 15 minute fix.
