When I go to take a picture the lcd screen is not clear but has a snow affect the lower the lighting in the room the more it is snowy looking.The pictures still come out clear though.

the camara will not show a picture on the lcd screen when trying to take a picture. Play back mode works, put in new batters, reset to factory defaults and re formatted card...still no pic on lcd in shooting mode.

This sounds like it might be impending failure of the CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following two links for more info:

Canon will resolve this problem free of cost as per announced Canon CCD Advisory.
Your Canon A95 has problem with CCD Imager and this part will be replaced by Canon Support free of cost. Click above said web link to get details.

you need to make sur about something:
the black spot, is it a dead pixels?
if it's not, canon will fix it for you free of charge as it could be a CCD problem.
