Icemaker works fine if there is a solenoid in the back. I don't want to fool with it because it will shut down my icemaker. I know there's a separate solenoid for the water dispenser. I just don't know how to get to it.

Fan's on this unit must be junk... I've had mine for 2 years... squeals something terrible. My old hotpoint 14 years before any problems.

try removing the ice bin.press the power cool and fridge button for 12 seconds to get the option mode.use the fridge button and set the option to 3.replace the ice bin then wait for over 12 hours before pressing the ice dispensor.
good luck.

Most times that will be the water control valve on the rear of refrigerator and most times they come as a pair or dual one side for water dispenser and other side for the ice maker. You can test to see if the ice maker is defective by turning switch on and fill with tap water. When it freezes and dumps but no water refills the ice maker then the valve for the ice maker side is defective and will need to be replaced as a pair. If you fill ice maker with water and it freezes and then does not dump then most likely the ice maker is defective.Thnks Sea Breeze

My Samsung French-door frig had the same problem - try resetting ice maker - red button on the side of the ice maker. If that doesn't work call Samsung service - I had a bad circuit board which needed to be replaced by local Samsung repair service.
