Leaking water dispenser

Icemaker works fine if there is a solenoid in the back. I don't want to fool with it because it will shut down my icemaker. I know there's a separate solenoid for the water dispenser. I just don't know how to get to it.

SOURCE: No water going into ice box of icemaker.

Most times that will be the water control valve on the rear of refrigerator and most times they come as a pair or dual one side for water dispenser and other side for the ice maker. You can test to see if the ice maker is defective by turning switch on and fill with tap water. When it freezes and dumps but no water refills the ice maker then the valve for the ice maker side is defective and will need to be replaced as a pair. If you fill ice maker with water and it freezes and then does not dump then most likely the ice maker is defective.Thnks Sea Breeze

My Samsung French-door frig had the same problem - try resetting ice maker - red button on the side of the ice maker. If that doesn't work call Samsung service - I had a bad circuit board which needed to be replaced by local Samsung repair service.

I have a samsung refrigerator model rs25h5111sr/aa that is no getting water to the ice maker. what would cause that The water dispenser is working fine

There is a 2 way water proportioning valve that supplies water to either the the icemaker or water dispenser. There is a solenoid for each. If there is water under the refrigerator, it's the valve. If no water under the refrigerator, it's the valve solenoid that goes to the icemaker.

My lg refrigerator lsxs26326 is dispensing water but not filling ice tray up. What could be wrong?

the water solenoid valve for the water dispenser is separate from the icemaker water supply solenoid valve . get to the icemaker water supply solenoid and test it if it works alright . unplug the fridge from wall outlet do not close water supply valve. disconnect water tube connection on the water discharge side of the icemaker water supply solenoid valve . pull - out power supply connection of the solenoid coil . connect solenoid valve directly to wall outlet. a faint click should be audible and water should come out from where the tube was removed -- from the water supply discharge side. if no water is coming out with the solenoid plug in , then the solenoid is faulty. but if water comes while solenoid is powered -on , check the position of the icemaker lever. if it is on off position icemaker timer won't activate icemaker water supply valve..move icemaker lever to on and check for water pouring into the icemaker tray' if no water comes out . change the icemaker timer. thanks.

Where do I find the ice maker inlet water valve or solenoid? The valve on the back of my fridge has only one hose going to both the water dispenser and ice maker and the water dispenser works fine.

Since there is water that flows to the water dispenser, the water valve is working. Now, there's a spout that water flows from to the icemaker tray. Look for it. It's located on the back wall inside the freezer and maybe behind the icemaker tray. Check and see if it's frozen. If so, defrost your freezer by turning the temperature gauge to off position. Wait a while until it's defrosted, then turn it back on.
Next, make sure that the metal wire is in down position.

If that doesn't work, your icemaker maybe defective and needs replacement.

I have a GE Profile refrigerator, Model PFSS6PKWBSS, with icemaker on door. Water is collecting under Deli-draw and leaking down freezer door onto floor. How do I fix leak?

Hi

Try and access the ice dispenser assembly and check from where the water is leaking. You would need to disassemble the ice dispenser and ice maker to check this. The ice dispenser is located in the upper portion of the freezer compartment. This assembly stores ice made by the icemaker and dispenses ice on demand from the door dispenser target switch.
1. Remove the upper ice bucket tray.
2. Slide out the ice dispenser assembly.
3. Remove the ice cube solenoid linkage Phillips head screw and slide the linkage back.
4. Remove the ice crusher cover Phillips head screws (2) and remove the cover.
5. With a pair of pliers, twist off the backing plate tabs located on either side of the crusher.
6. With 2 small flat-blade screwdrivers, unlock the ice crusher locking tabs located at either side of the ice crusher.
7. Lift the ice crusher out of the bucket.
8. Remove the ice crusher back cover.
9. Remove the locking ring from the ice crusher auger.
10. Remove the plastic nut with a pair of pliers by turning it clockwise.
11. Remove the spacers and blades. The blades are numbered for reassembly.

Icemaker--
The icemaker is located in the upper rear of the freezer compartment and supplies ice to the dispenser tub.
1. Disconnect the icemaker cable connector.
2. Remove 1/4-in. icemaker mounting screws and slide out the icemaker.
This refrigerator is equipped with an Electronic Icemaker.

Hope this helps... Please post back if you need more information.

Automatic icemaker stopped working yesterday. No problems before that. Arm is down, no problem with water line, (water still works in dispenser) temp is fine.

there are two solenoids that control water input. One foe the dispenser and one for the icemaker. Its called a double valve
and you have to replace both. even tho the dispenser is working.
Check ice tray for water if it has none pour it full and wait to see if it ejects after it freezes if it does then you probably need th double valve replaced if it don't then probably icemaker replacement

Water leaking from icemaker on outside

If this is your water dispenser leaking
Your water inlet valve on the back where the water supply comes in is probably leaking. disconnect the water line coming out of it and see if you have a slow drip. Try the dispenser to see if it's just drips after use.

Try using an hairdryer or defrosting the unit completely , this often get rid of blockage caused by frozen lines fixing the problem.

The water lines can also be unblocked from dirt using a thin flexible shaft. This after defrosting.

If all that does not fix the problem, then you may need to replace the water valve, the icemaker solenoid, or the whole icemaker assembly.

Yes, the short tube that goes from the back of the refrigerator to the icemaker can freeze up solid preventing any more water to pass thru. this is caused by a bad water valve that is slowly leaking water to the icemaker.

Water leaking from left side ice/water dispenser

If you describe a constant flow of water from the ice maker then the solenoid valve is either leaking by when it's upposed to be off or the motor module is stuck in the "fill" position. If it was stuck in fill you would be getting a LOT of water all the time so if you only have a trickle then the solenoid valve may be letting water leak by it. The diagram here shows the parts for a better idea of what you may need to look at (and where it's at). http://www.partselect.com/Schematics/Frigidaire/SZGBPCQH.gif
