One key pad not working on LG Voyager

I mistakenly dropped my LG voyager in water and i dried it out with a blow dryer. Everything was working fine after that but after a while, my down key stopped working. Is there anything I can do about this?

I dropped my Blackberry in a puddle of water and its not working. What can I do?

Remove the battery, turn the unit on it's back and allow any water to work its way out. Let the unit sit for a day or so. If you can't wait that long, take a blow dryer to it and blow out any water. When the unit appears to be completly dry, insert the battery and see if it boots up. If it doesn't, it may not be completely dry yet.

The 7290 is a pretty versatile unit. I dropped mine in a lake twice on the same camping trip. Both times I immediately removed the battery, laid it out on a rock and let the sun dry it. It booted up fine both times.

Cheers!

I dropped my phone in a tub of water and it was there for about 10 seconds because i didn't notice it at first. I wiped it dry, took out battery and sim card. The phone works and everything but the buttons...

What i would suggest is disassembling it and place in a warm room to remove any excess water, for about 2 hrs. Then find out whether it has survived.
If you have insurance on the phone that would be good to use it.

Got water damage and wont turn on

I dropped my phone in the toilet and surprisingly it still works. First I took the battery off and dried the phone and battery as much as I could. Then I took my blow dryer and a towel where I folded the towel in half and positioned the phone and the blow dryer under the towel and left it going for about an hour. The next day I took the phone and sat it in the sun until the inside moisture was gone. Then I charged it my phone has been working fine ever since and that was nearly two months ago.

I droped my voyager in water

HI,

if you drop your cell phone in water is to remove the battery immediately without even hesitating to turn off the power. This reduces the risk of a short circuit which would render your phone useless. Dry the batter with a towel and set aside to dry thoroughly.

.
After you have removed the battery, dry off the cell phone with an absorbent towel as best as you can. Use cotton swabs to soak up water in crevices and on any fragile, exposed circuits.

If you have dropped your cell phone in water, it is also helpful to disassemble it if you can and let all the parts dry separately.

Just be sure that you know how to put it back together. If it is a flip or sliding cell phone, leave it open for maximum evaporation.

If you drop your cell phone in liquid that isn’t pure water, you may want to try giving it an alcohol bath.

The alcohol will displace minerals and microscopic substances as well as aiding in the evaporation of the fluid. If it is available, you should use an alcohol concentration of 95% rather than rubbing alcohol that usually contains only 70%.

Once your phone is clean, leave it in a warm dry area or near an air conditioner for three days before you attempt to replace the battery and turn it on. This is very important, because although you may think that you have thoroughly dried it, the slightest moisture can react with the battery and cause it to short circuit. If drop your cell phone in water, and want to save it, resist the temptation of turning it on to see if it is working until you have waited at least 72 hours.

PLEASE USE HAIR DRYER TO DRY IT AND DONT CHARGE OR SWITCH IT ON FOR A DAY....................................

LG VU screen doesn't work after water damage

I was cleaning the pool when my LG Vu took a dive. I fished it out in about 2 minutes...should have jumped in and it would have been in only seconds.....anyway. Dried it off with my shirt and pushed the lock button to unlock and see the screen...it was on but said Emergency Download. I took the battery out and dried it off also took out the SIM card and memory card. Shook the water out; some drips here and there, fortunately it wasn't water-logged. I let it sit for about an hour and got on the internet to find a remedy. I took advice to put back the memory and SIM cards and plug in to charger....the screen directed me to put in the battery....so far so good. The screen said the battery was charging. I waited patiently for that to finish. When complete, unhooked the charger and hit the unlock button again....what do you know the screen came up! I was estatic! But....the touch screen would not work!! Back on the internet for advice. Decided to do the hair dryer trick. I set the dryer on cool setting and let it blow on the screen. I also opened up the chargers portal and let air blow in there. I took the cover off the back to the battery and let it blow on there....being very careful not to let the battery fall out and not let the phone get hot. I did this for about 30 minutes. There was some fogging of the screen so I focused more on drying the screen with the dryer. The fog cleared up and when I touched the touch screen the top of the screen started working first...bottom still not responding...a little more of the dryer and all worked!!! Screen fogged again in about 20 minutes...dryed it again with dryer and it has been dry ever since. I have gone to every application, etc. on my phone and everything works just like it did before it took a dip! Hope this helps some of you! Key is patience, and some drying with TLC! Best of Luck!

Water damage

1) Take the battery, sim card (SD card if there is one) out and dry
2)Dry the battery compartmant
3)For about 24 hours turn the phone upside down, or so the water will drip OUT
4) Then for about 2-3 minuets dry with a blow dryer, on low
5) YAY your cell phone SHOULD work, if not then the damage is serious
