Volume Knob Not Working... Jensen VM9312

So I was very pleased with this mobile video unit till today. All of a sudden my volume knob decided to go kaput. When I rotate it it just won't work. At first it was working on and off and now it just doesn't work at all. I have searched the net to see if anyone else had this problem with the VM9312 but I couldn't find any. Only the volume function does not work. If I push in the volume knob, the EQ setting comes up which it's supposed to. So I don't understand why the volume would not be working. With the remote it works fine, just the knob doesn't work. Can anyone help me? Or am I going to have to hassle for a warranty repair? Thanks in advance.

I have the same unit, your unit sounds like its defected. Mine on the other hand has a static noise coming from its speakers, does yours do that too?

On a audiovox vm9312 I lost remote and can't turn

The VM9312 has a volume knob on the unit's faceplate. Just rotate the knob on the left (a little below the optical disc D slot) clockwise to increase the volume. Turn it the opposite way to lower the volume. (If you have the knob set to the maximum volume and then lowered the volume with the remote, you may need to reset the unit; see below.) If you push in and release on this button, you press Enter or confirm a setting when you are in any audio settings menu.

If the volume control isn't working, check if the mute is on. Press once to toggle the Mute. The mute button is just below and near the right side of the optical drive slot.

If you still can't change the volume, check if you have the wiring correct and no shorted wires. Look for damage at the speakers (or evidence of mice chewing on the wires). Also check your audio balance. See the manual page 12 here: http://www.voxxintlcorp.com/docs/common/VM9312/VM9312_OM.pdf . You may also want to try a system reset. (Press and hold the reset button for a few seconds by using the tip of a ballpoint pen in the little opening at the lower right hand side of the faceplate.)

I hope this helps.

Volume not function.

You need to be a bit clearer on the exact nature of the issue.
Please include if the unit was working and suddenly stopped producing sound (ie - speaker output fuse blew) or if you relocated the unit, and after hooking it back up, you aren't getting any sound (ie - not hooked up right) or if the volume knob isn't changing the readout for the volume level (logic or knob broken) - and also include the make and model of WHAT the volume knob is attached to (ie - Yamaha receiver model X)

Jensen flip out head unit volume knob doesn't work . the remote works fine but just that one problem.. and i cant seem to get the DVD to play.! ( bought it used..)

it needs to be serviced by jensen or some other repair facility. there is nothing you will be able to do to get the knob to work. if it plays cd's and not dvd's thats also an issue that you can't fix by yourself. if it doesn't play cd's or dvd's then you can TRY to run an optical cleaner through it. its a cd player cleaner kit you can get at most electronics stores.

Volume

Set the volume to the desired start up volume then hold the knob in for about thirty seconds. It should beep. The radio will then start at that volume everytime you start your car.

Volume control

Try setting the volume on the level you want, they push in the volume knob for about 20 secs until you hear a beep.
