Won't start up and have green flashing light on the back even when unplugged
My desktop will not fire up. I have a Compaq Presario SR1030NX. There is a green flashing light on the back. What is this light? What is wrong with it? How do I fix it?
Is the flashing light near the power chord or the NIC (where you plug you ethernet chord [network connection]) ? There is an LED for your power supply and one for your Network connection.

you can remove your side cover, and unplug everything from your power supply. then if you plug in your computer and the light still flashes it's your power supply. If not it's something that it is powering. Most likely it's your motherboard. I had this happen to me when there was a power surge/ outage and my computer wasn't even on.
open start click on control panel find system open device managerit will through up a list if your haveing trouble with your usb(if there is some thing wrong you should have a yellow mark by it) you should click on it, then click on driver have it update or install itself
Sounds like the power supply or motherboard is biting the dust. U may consider power off, open case and clean out the dirt, check U'r connections and if the power supply smells, replace it.
Else replace the pc. When the power supply dies, it usually stresses the motherboard out and it dies later, sooner.
Yes sir.

Is it where the power supply is? Where you would hook up your power cord?
