SOURCE: Paper Jam Message

Thanks for the solution. I have a oki B4300, same problem.
I opened top, removed toner/drum. On your left, in front, there is metal roller held by springs. Plastic strip is just in front of this. Two square windows under plastic strip should look dark.
In my case, the Left "window "was white. This was a very small piece of paper which also extended under a small, moveable magnetic switch to the far left. I removed this paper by grabbing it (next to the switch) with a pair of surgical forceps, gently twisting it until it could be pulled out. No need to remove any parts. It now is fixed!
Thanks again.

SOURCE: OKI C5100 printer repeated jams. Usually flashing the code of "380: paper jam" as the message.

I too kept getting the front cover paper jam despite followings Oki's paper jam removal instructions and blowing out the printer with compressed air.
In my case, the paper drawer was the problem.  When you pull out the drawer there is a spring loaded piece of white plastic at the very front of the drawer.  In the center of that is a gray rubber strip.  That strip had come loose in the center and bowed out, preventing paper from exiting the paper drawer.  I manually removed the strip, clipped off a little piece from one end so that it fit back in the recessed cavity on the white plastic piece and glued it back down.
This should be applicable to all Oki c5xxx color LED printers.

Sometimes you will find debris has fallen into the printer. Take off back to clean it out. Something as small as a staple can create this problem.

SOURCE: Paper jam message

check the paper tray to make sure paper goes up. Also check to see if there are any obstructions in the paper path.

SOURCE: Oki C5500 printer keeps jamming

Open the tray and find yout imput roller. You can remove this roller and put it back on the other side. Normally this is caused because it is worn. The inside of the roller is like a new one.

My HP J6480 keeps insisting that I have a Paper Jam where there is not. I have already tried a Soft and Hard Reset of the printer. What else can I do to get it working properly?

11_16_2011_10_40_07_am.jpgRemove back cover check for paper, check paper sensor flag as shown in photo shot, check for dislocation/broken/no free movement..if feels good. Clean paper sensor located just below the sensor flag shown in snap shot, if you are tech guy you can open and clean it other wise blow pressure air to clean with out open the printer.
Thanks for questioning

False paper jam on HP J6480. partial reset doesn't work? Is there any fix

When resets don't work, there is a deeper problem. The sensor for paper feed can be bad and you can tell if you hear a fast zip sound shortly after powering up. Also a paper scrap can be lodged inside stopping the paper present sensor from working. Also when paper feed is started if the roller is dirty and can't pick up paper it will report that as a jam. Take a look inside and write back if nothing helps.

HP J6480 paper jam but cannot fix

Usually when you see this it means there is either a tiny sliver of paper in there being detected or the paper jam sensor itself is the problem. If you open it up and follow the path the paper takes through you may find the piece of paper or spec of dust that is causing it. If you use a soft brush and a vacuum you can get everything out that might be causing this. The cause can be a pretty small spec of dust or paper. Usually if the sensor is bad there will be an error code so I would bet on the dust. If it is the sensor check for replacement cost of the printer verses cost of the sensor. Usually you can just buy a new printer as cheap.

I HAVE A HP OFFICEJET J6480 ALL IN ONE. THE PROBLEM IS THAT IT SAYS I HAVE A PAPER JAM. I HAVE CLEARED ANY JAM, BUT IT WON'T CLEAR OUT

Hp printer paper jam error message is displayed by the printer when paper is jammed in one or more locations. In such a case, users are recommended to remove the jammed paper from the specified location. The entire paper path must be checked for any pieces of paper. To stop the message, open and close the top most cover of the printer. Lastly, verify the flags and the sensors. If the problem persists, the cause of the error message could be a broken sensor or sensor lever.
