fridges now a days get their cooling from the freezer, air is blowen in by a fan from the freezer to the fridge chamber, make sure the fans runing and duct work isn`t pluged.
I don't know how your unit works but most have a thermostat that opens a vent between the freezer and the fridge allowing cold air into the fridge compartment. you probably need a new thermostat which looks like a wire with a tube on the end, check for a service manual on the manufacturers website to find part numbers and diagrams
If the compressor is hot then you have a compressor fault. If the compressor is cold, then the thermostst is faulty. Im taking it the fridge is a mechanical control.
ONE OF THE MOST COMMON CAUSES FOR A SERVICE CALL IS EXACTLY WHAT YOU STATE, THE MAX SETTINGS ARE SET AND STILL ITS NOT GETTING COOLER, ESPECIALLY IN FRIDGE SECTION RIGHT?
IF YOU ARE MAKING ICE THATS DRY THE FREEZER IS OK,
THE PROBLEM 90% OF THE TIME IS THIS
AS THE FRIDGE SECTION IS RELIANT 100% UPON THE COLD AIR MIGRATING INTO THE FRIDGE COMPARTMENT VIA A LITTLE FLAPPER DOOR THAT OPENS OR CLOSES OR IN BETWEEN AS WELL , THUS ALLOWING MORE OR LESS AIR TO MIGRATE INTO THE REFRIGERATOR SIDE FROM THE FREEZER SIDE
THE STUPIDEST THING IS THE FRIDGE SAYS MAX COLD ON BOTH SETTINGS, ONE ACTUALLY CONTROLS THE COMPRESSOR AND DETERMINES HOW LONG THE COMPRESSOR WILL RUN IT USUALLY IS OFF AND 1-10 , THE ONE THAT TURNS OFF THE COMPRESSOR ISNT THE ONE THAT DETERMINES THE REFRIGERATORS TEMP! THE OTHER SETTING FOR COLDER FREEZER DOES!!!! TAKE THAT SETTING BACK OFF OF MAX FOR COLDER FREEZER AND THE LITTLE FLAPPER WILL OPEN ALL THE WAY , WHEN SET FOR MAX COLD THE FRIDGE SIDE STARVES!, ANY SETTING 1-10 SHOULD STILL KEEP THE FREEZER FREEZING AND MAKING ICE IS THE KEY! IF IT CAN THEN ITS NOT A REFRIGERATION PROBLEM , IT IS A CIRCULATION ISSUE
1 is the lowest setting. And if you want to make it really cold in your LG then turn it to the highest number. Might back off the fridge setting to 2. Do you have two t-stat's one for freezer and one for fresh food compartment?
On a fridge freezer only the fridge temperature is monitored. In a cold location the fridge might not even need cooling and the freezer would get too warm but the thing won't care.
If the fridge sensor sees it as too warm then it will keep the motor running and the first thing to get really cold is the freezer.
Remember the freezing part is not temperature controlled ion a fridgefreezer.
Could be a wire short, bad defrost heater, or comp. pulling too many amps which is between 2 and 6 or higher being bad. I would say the main problem is you purchased a LG fridge which is a poorly made fridge, sorry.
