I purchased a refurbished Verizon Galaxy S thinking of switching companies. However, right after I purchased it I had to relocate abroad and I want to use my Samsung. I have been told I can't unlock it because it doesn't have a Sim card. Is it true or is there anything I can do to unlock it? Thank you for any help.
Yes, of course, You can easily unlock your phone. Nowadays many people have faced this type of problem and they didn't know about unlocking. I m here to tell you unlocking process of the phone. First, need to opt for an unlocking company who provide a safe and fast method. Then share your phone information such as 15 digits IMEI number with country and operator. If you don't know the IMEI number of the phone then dial *#06# on your phone, your phone will show you IMEI number of the phone. Send them all the correct details of the phone to the unlocking company. After this process, you will receive the code via email. once you enter the code in your phone, your phone will be unlocked within a few seconds. By using this method you can easily unlock your phone instantly.

Jailbreaking in IOS is rooting in Android. You root the Precedent (gain access to the root login) by using rtto at http://codegeekbbs.com/samsung.php Just follow the directions you'll find in the file. Just read the Readme.txt file.
Unlocking is making the phone run on other carriers' towers - and you can't do that with a CDMA phone without pretty much rebuilding the phone. (CDMA phones don't have SIM cards, only GSM phones do - the technology is different.)
