Kenmore 80 Series washer, MOD# 110-22882101; I have the same problem, except mine makes a sort of grinding noise in the spin cycle, sort of like a gear is not meshing correctly. The water does drain, but the noise is still there and the tub will not spin. Any help wopuld be appreciated.

With old washers and with new washers sometimes you have to get in there and tighten the belt or replace the belt. Your problem sounds like this to me.Your question was posted sometime ago and you probably found your problem. If not please get back to me and I will be happy to help some more. GOOD LUCK.

I have a Kenmore Series 80 (8543549) top load washer. It will fill, but not agitate or spin or drain or anything else. The knob does not advance except manually. What component is causing this problem?

if its a top load which i believe a series 80 is,then you need to replace the lid switch to make it operate again, its located under the control panel, some can be replaced from the top,but some need to have the outer case removed to replace this switch

I just replaced the transmission on my Kenmore 80. No agitation

your motor turns one way for the spin cycle and the other way for agitate. remove the coupler and test it that way.

Kenmore 80 series not agitating or spinning, making racheting soun

You have a broken coupling that links the motor and transmission. Call around your area for estimates. It is a pretty straight forward job so most technicians should be able to give you an estimate over the phone. Most likely between $150.00 and $200.00.

pull the motor check the operation of the motor while it is on the floor: this motor reverses to spin; usual problems are; loose conection of motor plug (not snapped in) clutch springs and, piviot points blocked by other parts; clutch brake pads installed wrong or; mis-adjusted; slipping
