Is the pump pumping? Have you cleaned all the drain lines including the discharge hose? You may have nothing in the pump but it could be blocked somewhere else.
smelly front loader???all front loader tend to leave a little water left over in the inner tub after every load, always leave washer door a crack open to reduce smell/mold on seal,to get rid of smell simply run a normal cycle,no clothes, with a dose of bleach or better yet AFFRESH,made by whirlpool,a bleach tablet with fragerance, sanitze and smells good!!answer,,,AFFRESH
Your discharge hose is leaking. Check the hose itself, of course (for hoses), but the problem is most likely a loose connection of the discharge hose to the discharge outlet. To inspect these items, you'll need to remove the back cover of the unit (typically 11/32-in nutdriver), and follow the discharge hose to the discharge outlet. You may find that the hose clamp needs to be replaced, or that the end of the hose is deteriorated, and needs to be cut off an inch shorter, and the hose clamp re-applied.
It could be either the pump or a clog in the discharge hose. Take a shop vac and attach it to the discharge hose to remove the water from the machine. Remove the pump housing and run a wire down the discharge hose to check for a clog. If there is no obstructions, reattach the pump housing and remove the pump motor. Run a spin cycle and see if the pump motor turns.
check that the out let pump filter is clear first,, then check that the drain pump is working,, it may be blocked up or stuck so it cant turn or maybe the drive motor has burnd out or the drain away pipe could be a little blocked up
is this a question? I will assume that you are saying that there is mildew growing below something, possibly the drum, inside the washer. The only way to definately get it out is disassembly and thorough cleaning. Check your discharge hoses to make sure they are not clogged, leaving water in the washer rather than discharging all of it. If you want to kill the mildew/smell, run an empty load or just some rags but throw a cup or two of bleach in the washer. The chlorine will kill the mildew growths. Run a rinse cycle or two before your next load of darks to get the chlorine out (especially if you are having a discharge problem) so you don't inadvertantly bleach your clothes.
Pump failure. Unit probably has something stuck in pump....the washer eats the socks not the dryer. suggest shope vac to get water out, and then remove hose from pump and check to see if its clear.
It is probably the fill valve filter which is blocked or the drain outlet is obstructed.
You can clean the fill valve filter by turning the water off and disconnecting the hose ot hoses
There is a plastic filter just inside the valve which needs to be kept clean
If you have a slow discharge from the drain pump that also will cause the machine to take a long time on a cycle
Take the discharge hose out of the waste pipe clean the end and get someone with strong lungs to blow down it you should be able to hear air bubbles inside the machine if not then you may have a sock stuck in the pipe from the drum to the pump
It should completely empty the m/c.
If it is plumbed into your sink waste this could be cause of smell, also if it is connected to your waste make sure the hose is above the bottom of the sink trap,as water can sometimes syphon back into the washer from the sink. Remove hose from sink connection and clean and check for obstruction.
I doubt your pump is faulty.
If it goes into a stand pipe make sure this is not partially blocked, and again clean stand pipe with a strong disinfectant or similar
