Container leaking We have our spidem machine since 4 years and never had a single problem. Now, I have a problem with my container ; the water leaks before it goes into the machine. we do clean our machine often; when we clean it, the problem goes away for 2-3 days. does someone have a solution?? thank you!

our trevi spidem machine is leaking; as if the water refuses to get into the machine when it comes out of the container. we've checked the spring under the container and tested it; it works just fine, the water comes out normally... we clean our machine often and when we cleaned it, the problem goes away for 2-3 days...
    thank you!

Check the bottom of the container, there is a spring loaded valve and an o-ring, one of them might be damaged or not seated properly.

Question : What type of coffee are you using? Is it flavored or oily?

On cleaning I will assume that you are reffering to the brew unit, and not a descaling on the machine. If the problem is the brew unit Try cleaning it out with purocaff or cleancaff espresso machine soap and hot water that will dissolve the coffee oils, and clean the passages on the brew unit more efficiently. Remove shower screen and either soak in purocaff solution or hold over open flame to clean (the coffee oil will burn faster than the screen).

If it is descaling that you are referring to when yo say cleaning, try using ScaleKleen or a nickel safe cleaner. They do a more thorough job of descaling the espresso machine.

Unit is leaking water on the left side and after we fill up the water container. We are placing it in the proper position but it leaks constantly. It there a service fix for such a situation? ...

Hi
If its leaking under the water tank, its this.
There is a seal on top of the machine under the water tank. To get to it, remove the water tank, and set aside. There is a large doughnut shaped cap on top of the machine. Slip a screwdriver on the outside edge of the cap and pry up gently. When it snaps up, go to the other side of the cap and do the same. There is a black seal in the center and if you stick your finger in the center and it lifts out, it needs to be replaced. Clean any residue inside the opening with a Q-tip.
When you get the new seal, it won't slip in. Insert it at a slight angle (double lips down), then take your finger nail and run it around the bottom edge of the seal until it slips in, then push down. Snap the cap back on and your set to go.
If its leaking under the machine, its your boiler.
If its leaking into the dredge drawer, its the thiumbscrew in the brew unit, that holds the filter screen in.
If its under your drip tray there is a pocket behind the brew unit that has a cloged drain, just above the center of the drip tray in back.

Water leaks from the bottom of the machine

There are many possible points that the leak can be.

All points of the water supply from water tank to the pressure pump then to boiler and finally to coffee group. All this are connected together with plastic or Teflon pipes with easy fit unions secure with clips

You need to disassemble the machine and work it without the side panels of course with extra care since power electrical cables are exposed.

In this way with a very good visual check while the machine is in operation you can identify the leaking point and fix it.

My Saeco Spidem Villa leaks after it despenses the coffee. Have attempted to clean descale to no avail. Any suggestions?

Take out the grounds box and the brew group. At the back there is an opening. If grounds get in the opening, it can't drain. Get some hot water in a squirt bottle and flush out that opening at the back ... this may end your problem with leaking after dispensing

Trevi Spidem Espresso Machine that leaks

remove the brew unit and look at the white valve behind it, below that valve there is a small chamber which is probably filled with coffee grounds and water, clean chamber and below chamber is a small discharge hole that leads into the draintray, make sure it is clear.

Spidem Trevi Water Problem/ my machine is leaking water and sort of coffee grounds. I have decalcified it several times, but it continues to leak. It is an office machine is 3 years old and I don no

Easiest way is to open the machine and find the blockage then clear it out and then get on a regular descale cycle. Check the brew unit also to make sure that it is not blocked. You model only has one boiler so if you're getting hot water from the steam wand it is possible that the problem is in the brew unit.

Water reservoir leaks intermittently

Saeco use the same seal under the grey plastic ring on most of their coffee machines so it should be easy to find a replacement from any Saeco, Spidem or Gaggia service centre.

In most cases the seal isn't worn, it just isn't sitting right, so remove the grey cap (two flat screw drivers to lever from both sides at the same time helps) and reposition it. This is usually all that is needed if the problem is only intermittent.

Also check that there isn't anything sitting in recesses where the legs of the water container sit. It only takes a tiny bit of dirt to stop the container sitting in far enough to seal.

However, make sure the leak isn't coming from the container itself. Hold the container up with water in it and see if it drips. Check the the spring is clean.
