PUK Codes

A PUK (PIN Unlock Key) code is required to unlock SIM cards that have become locked following three successive incorrect PIN entries. If your SIM card becomes locked, you will need to get a PUK code from AT&T to unlock your SIM card.

Since I don't know the name of you carrier, I'm using AT&T as an example. Most carriers use the same methodology though the wording may be different.

You can obtain your phone's PUK code from AT&T in one of these ways:

• Log in to myAT&T online
• Use our Technical Support Chat.
• Contact Customer Care


To get your phone's PUK code online:

? Log in to myAT&T.
? From the myAT&T tab at the top of the page, hover over the Wireless link and select Phone/Device under the My Wireless Service heading.
? From the My Phone/Device screen, select the Unblock SIM Card link under the My Make & Model heading.
? The Unblock SIM screen will display your PUK code and will give you instructions for unblocking your SIM Card.

Once you receive your PUK code, you will need to enter it into your phone to set a new PIN code.

Note: If you enter the wrong PUK code 10 times in a row, your SIM card will be invalidated, and you will need to purchase a new SIM Card. The phone will display the following error: "PUK blocked call operator."

You can also do it without any assistance from anyone, However, be sure to read the following carefully because there are pitfalls.

Although most people remember their primary SIM PIN code, those other codes - used for various verification purposes - are never to be found when needed. Below we've included a set of short codes which, when entered on a handset's standby screen, will let you easily change PIN and PUK (short for Pin Unlock Code) codes - but keep in mind, they may not work with all handsets and mobile operators. More importantly, when changing ones PUK codes there'll be no help to get from the mobile operator if the new codes are forgotten, so make sure to write any changes down alongside the old PUK codes. Also, please note that the codes should be entered without the spaces shown below.

If you have forgotten your PIN number;

• Telephone your cell phone service provider and ask for your PUK code. (They are the only ones who can give it to you as it's the SIM card that locks rather than the phone.)
• Enter a wrong PIN number 3 times and your SIM card will lock (if it's not already locked)
• Turn off your phone and then turn it on again.
• When you turn it on enter the PUK code. It will ask you for a new PIN. Enter a new PIN number and that will be the PIN you use from then on.

Keep the PUK code safe somewhere as you could need it again if you forget the PIN again.

If it's your pin number you forgot, phone your service provider and get your PUK code. Write it down and check with them that you have it right. There are 2 PUK codes, one for PIN 1 and one for PIN 2.

When you have the PUK code, enter any wrong pin 3 times and the phone will lock.
When the phone is locked turn it off and then on again. It will tell you that the sim card is locked and ask for the PUK code. Enter the PUK and it will then ask for your new PIN. Enter a new code and it is now changed.

the puk code is part of a sim lock. most phones have two locks a phone lock and a sim lock. the puk code comes from incorrectlly entering the sim unlock code too many times. this can be fixed in about 2 minutes but you need to get the sim puk code from your carrier i.e. att, or tmobile. the when you get the pin you want to enter **05*(enter the puk code you were given)*(your new pin of your choice)*(the pin you choose again)# after that your phone will say unlocked besure to test this by turning your phone of and on when it asks you for the pin it will no be the pin you chose, i hope this helps!!!

call idea customer care by any other idea user and ask for your puk code by telling them the numbers on the other side of your sim card and your sim contact number............
they will tell you your puk code...........

Puk lock are from Sim cards not phone...

To unlock your Puk lock, first get your Sim park where you cut out the Sim card from.

Check on the Sim park you will see where they number on it..

when you turn on your phone and it request for Puk number, type in the Puk on your Sim park..

It will ask for a your Pin number. type in your Pin and it will request that you re-type your pin.

After typing it again, you can make use of your Sim card again.take care.

PIN CODE is SIM dependenet and not phone dependent

PUK code in PIN UNLOCKING CODE, which is required when you give PIN number wrongly for 3 times,
This code is OPERATOR specific and not phone specific and you have to call you operator and get PUK if PIN is blocked...

if you provide PUK code wrongly for 7 time, you sim may become useless, then you have to buy new SIM

NOTE: You should ask your service provider,get the PUK, give the PIN 3 times wrongly and it asks for PUk,provide the PUK and set the new PIN..
