go into the power options of your control panel in windows.

There will be an option in there to choose when the computer goes into sleep mode or when the monitor shuts down.

Choose never to make sure your screensaver or your sleep mode doesn't turn on.

Open up the Control Panel and double-click on the Power Options applet. Change your current power settings so that the monitor will not turn off after 20 minutes of idle time (set it to Never).

It's probably just your screen saver noticing that nothing has happened for that long. You could try changing the settings to a longer time, or just moving the mouse to get the screen back.
If that doen't do it, then there may be some kind of issue with your monitor itself...

I was wondering why Netflix has to regenerate every 15 minutes or so...

I have used Netflix for a few years now and if you have a slow connection sometimes the buffer has to catch up. What normally happens is when you start to watch a movie it will load a certain amount of the movie before it starts. Make sure that you are not running anything in the background like a Antivirus and such. Make sure that you have plenty of Ram and Hard drive space as well. You can also purchased a Media Streamer like Ruku and hook it up to your TV if it is not a Smart TV. Just a thought. Good Luck.

I have Netflix on my iPad and have been watching movies by streaming, but lately they have been stopping every 5 to 10 minutes with a message that I need to check Netflix website and the number 1016. Help?

Straight from Netflix:

The Netflix App error 1016 while attempting to stream usually indicates an Internet connectivity issue. To resolve this issue, follow the troubleshooting steps below.
Powercycle your home network
  1. Turn off your device and unplug both your router and modem for 20-30 seconds.
  2. Plug in your modem and wait until no new indicator lights are blinking on.
  3. Plug in your router and wait until no new indicator lights are blinking on.
  4. Turn on your device and attempt to stream again.

Computer shuts down watching netflix.........1/2 way into a movie Dell Inspiron 1525mj

The most likely thing is that you need to adjust your power savings settings on the computer in Control Panel. Watching a movie doesn't register as "activity" to the system so if you are set to Sleep or Hibernate after an hour that would typically cut you off half way thorught the movie.

You can change the power savings settings or every 30-40 minutes move the mouse around or click the keyboard etc. to restart the timer.

Gateway FHD2400 24inch monitor HELP PLEASE!

well it's not the computer going to sleep but the monitor is (sort of) because your computer is telling to. it has to do with the Power Options (title dependent on OS - this is what it's called in Vista)

Go to Control Panel>>Power Options - on the left hand column click Choose when to turn off the display - I'm guessing you are set to 15 or 20 minutes for the Turn off the display dropdown - change it to something longer to satisfy your needs (Never is an option).

If you're not running Vista write back - it's slightly different but similar path.

Cheers.
