Ice crush motor not working

I would check the selector switch before anything else. If the switch is broken then the motor will not get power to run. If the switch is good then I would check out the motor and see if it may have siezed up which can happen depending on age, the bearings get worn over tine then the shaft slips and the motor locks up. Good luck

How to change the ignition lock cylinder on a 1985 s15 gmc jimmy

1st you will need two tools, you can get them from any auto parts store like NAPA. See picture at end of the GM steering lock ring depresser, a must have..
INSTRUCTIONS:
Remove steering wheel. Underneath is the turn signal switch. There is a ring around the steering shaft holding the steering wheel lock plate down. Push down on the lock plate and remove the ring and the lock plate. Next is the turn signal switch. 3 screws holding it down one on the right side above the key and 2 on the left. Probably have to move the turn signal switch left and right to get them. the arm is held on with one screw. Remove the hazard button, one screw in the end of it. There should be enough slack in the turn signal wires to get it over the steering shaft. On the top side at the bottom of the ignition switch there should be a screw. Remove screw and the ignition switch will just pull out. Reverse to install.

After removing the snap ring and the nut below it on the steering column; what do I remove next in order to get the turn signal switch replaced?

you need a steering column lock plate compressor it threads onto the shaft and pushes the lock plate in compressing the spring and allows you room to remove the lock ring around the steering column shaft then you remove the tool , ring , lock plate , then you can see the turn signal switch sometimes you can push the plate in with your left hand and pry the lock ring out with the right hand

How to replace the ignition switch

  1. If equipped with an air bag, disable the system as outlined in of this repair guide.
  2. If not done already, disconnect the negative battery cable.
  3. Remove the steering wheel, as outlined earlier in this section.
  4. Remove the shaft lock cover.
  5. Remove the shaft lock retaining ring using a suitable lock plate compressor tool to press down the shaft lock. Dispose of the ring.
  6. Remove the shaft lock.
  7. Remove the turn signal canceling cam assembly.
  8. Remove the upper bearing spring.
  9. Remove the thrust washer.
  10. Move the turn signal lever up, into the "right turn" position.
  11. Remove the multi-function lever.
  12. Remove the turn signal switch arm retaining screw.
  13. Remove the turn signal switch screws and let the switch hang freely.
  14. Remove the key from the lock cylinder set.
  15. Remove the buzzer switch assembly.
  16. Reinsert the key in the lock cylinder.
  17. Turn the key to the LOCK position.
  18. Remove the lock retaining screw and remove the lock cylinder.
  19. If equipped with cruise control, remove the housing cover end cap, unplug the cruise control connector and gently pull through the shroud, bowl, and steering column housing assembly.
  20. Remove the washer head screw, the hex nut and dimmer switch.
  21. Remove the mounting stud and ignition switch.
    1. If equipped with cruise control, gently pull the connector through the steering column housing assembly, bowl and shroud and connect the plug.
    2. Install the housing cover end cap and screw and tighten to 17 inch lbs. (1.9 Nm).
    3. Install the ignition switch and mounting stud and tighten the stud to 35 inch lbs. (4.0 Nm). Adjust the ignition switch by moving the switch slider to the extreme left position and then move the slider 1 detent to the right (off lock).

    See Figure 1

0900c152801dbcc2.jpg enlarge_icon.gifenlarge_tooltip.gif Fig. Fig. 1: Ignition switch adjustment procedure
    1. Install the dimmer switch hex nut, screw, and tighten to 35 inch lbs. (4.0 Nm). Adjust the dimmer switch.
    2. To adjust the dimmer switch, depress the switch slightly to allow insertion of a 3 / 32 in. drill bit into the hole above the actuator rod. Force the switch upward then tighten the screw.

  24. Turn the key to the RUN position.
  25. Install the buzzer switch assembly.
  26. Install the turn signal switch and retaining screws and tighten to 31 inch lbs. (3.5 Nm).
  27. Install the wire protector shield.
  28. Install the turn signal switch arm and retaining screw and tighten to 29 inch lbs. (2.3 Nm).
  29. Install the hazard knob assembly.
  30. Install the multi-function lever.
  31. Install the thrust washer and upper bearing spring.
  32. Lubricate with synthetic grease and install the turn signal canceling cam assembly.
