My 4GB version is freezing my computer screen when hooked up

  • Try reflashing the firmware for your device you can find the latest firmware and flashing utilities from the manufacturer’s website. Make sure that you back your music up first because when you do this you are setting it back to factory settings.
  • Try resetting the device it’s usually a small pinhole on the back or side of the device try holding that in for about 10 seconds.

Computer monitor

If one of those 5 computers has a working monitor,
set the device-resolution to 800-by-600 and the refresh-rate to 60 Hz.

Then, disconnect the "working" monitor, and connect the "problem" monitor.

It should say "auto-adjust", and then it should continue to display that 800-by-600 image.

Try upping the device-resolution to 1024-by-768,
and see if the "problem" monitor will support that resolution.

Try upping the device-resolution to 1280-by-1024,
and see if the "problem" monitor will support that resolution.

I want to download an album from my computer to my Insignia mp3. When I plug the player into my computer all I get is the charging screen. I want to get the album from media player.Jerry

When the player connects only with the charging display, there are 3 points that need to be checked:

Battery and cable connection
1. Connecting the player to the computer, the charging symbol should start loading; battery "green" or "partly green" indication. The player should respond with "OK to disconnect" = connection established correctly.
For proper charging and connection put the USB cable plug directly to the computer preferred at the back side: not through a hub or card reader.

MSC mode
2. The player is switched to MSC mode. MSC = Mass Storage Class. In this mode the device is seen as a flash drive also called removable disk, that can be accessed using Windows Explorer.
The Hold switch was in hold position on the top side, before connecting to the computer.

Disconnect the player and release the hold switch. Next the player should be in standard MTP mode. MTP = Media Transfer Protocol used for transferring files with media software.

MTP mode
3. The media software on the computer for transferring files is not installed or not working properly. Update or reinstall the media software.

Manual for Insignia NS-DV2G:

When this didn't help the firmware on the player needs to be reinstalled.
For firmware see the Drivers in the Support tab of the next link:

My ipod doesnt turn on and nothing works... it doesnt charge and when i plugg it to the computer nothing comes up on itunes so i cant even restore it or anything, ive tried everything... please help

hi,
1. Make sure the Hold switch is off
2. Make sure the battery is charged
3. Reset iPod
4. Let iPod's battery drain
5. Update iPod's software
6. Make sure iPod is the only device in your FireWire or USB chain. Disconnect everything but the mouse, keyboard, and your iPod, then see if it will turn on.
7. Make sure you are using the FireWire or USB cable that came with your iPod, and that the cable is in good condition.
8. Try connecting iPod to the built-in port of a different computer to see if that works.

IF all the above is checked and if ur ipod still remains same please take it to an apple store and check with them!..thank you!!..
