Can't find passkey for bluetooth. (0000 won't work)
Trying to pair my X-TC but other device keeps asking for passkey. I've tried every 3 & 4 digit simple combination (i.e. 1234/0000/4321/123/000/etc.)with no connection. WTF?
Re: Can't find passkey for bluetooth. (0000 won't work)
Hey ! you cant give random pass keys..you ll have to provide a pass key to the device to which you are trying to pair with..and that pass key must be entered so that your other device is safe..! so you provide your other device with a pass key ..then try..ok

When you pair a bluetooth device, a passkey is required for pairing. Most bluetooth headsets and handsfree devices use the passkey of 0000 but for other things, a longer passkey of 6 or more random digits is usually generated by the pairing device and required to be entered or verified on the device that is being paired.
You Need To Type In A 4 Digit PassCode To Get Through To Another BlueTooth Device. Pairing Bluetooth Phones Is Kind Of Complicated. If You Are Pairing 2 Phones... Here Are The Steps:
1.) Find The Other Phone By Searching For It On BlueTooth
2.) Select The Device/Phone You Want To Pair With
3.) Enter The Last 4 Digits Of The Phone Your Trying To Pair With's Phone Number
4.) The Other Phone Should Be Asked If It Wants To Pair With Your Phone, Say Yes
5.) Type In The Last 4 Digits Again Of The Phone Your Trying To Pair With's Phone Number, Except This Time ON The Phone You Are Trying To Pair With
6.) You Should Get A Paired Successful
Pairing With Any Other BlueTooth Enabled Device:
1.) Search Through BlueTooth For The BlueTooth Enabled Device You Want To Pair To
2.) Select The Device You Want To Pair With
3.) Read The Instruction Manual That Came With The BlueTooth Device You Are Trying To Pair With, You Should Find A Pair Key In There Somewhere
4.) Enter The Passkey You Found (OR Already Know) And You Should Be Ready To Go
If All Else Fails, The BlueTooth Is Obviously Broken On Your Phone... Exchange It For A New One
I wanted to answer this for anyone else who found this question using a web search. The answer is 0000 (four zeros) when asked for the pass code. It's the default code. And your lock code (until you change it) is by default, the last four digits of your phone number i.e. 555-444-5555 (5555 would be your code)
I have the exact problem.. but you try to turn off and on your phone once again.. and then do the pairing instruction.... using the passkey 0000.. then... it works for me again...
