When i try to make a video call it says no umts network coverage

Get fring.. http://m.fring.com and have your friends that have phones with front facing cameras to get fring also. It works.

This probable if your Network does not have 3G/UMTS coverage in that specific area.
I would set your phone so that it will automatically select 2G or 3G network services (e.g. often referred to as Dual-mode) so that if 3G/UMTS is available and has the best coverage/signal, it will automatically be selected. Setting UMTS coverage only would be very restrictive in many area as the signal is usually weaker (especially in Buildings).
